The Cambria in Maple Grove was not too far off the interstate and presents a relatively quiet location to rest your weary bones after a day of traveling, shopping, or business. The staff were friendly and accommodating to our needs. A hot/cold complimentary breakfast kept us fueled for the start of our days. The rate for our clean and spacious king suite was reasonable. Long access hours to the hot tub, pool, and gym gave us time to plan those stops in our day! The only minor point we would note as an aging couple did not impact us greatly, just a note is a smaller bathroom with an awkwardly placed toilet paper holder and a lack of overhead lighting over the desk area we didn't have a laptop to plug in the USB lamp available. We used to stay here regularly pre-pandemic, and after a long absence of traveling, the Cambria held true again!
This is a great place to stay when you're in the area.. Everybody is friendly, nice. Breakfast is pretty good.. I personally feel it's in a nice safe area. I would definitely Is stay here when i'm back in the area. The bads are comfortable. The pillows are great. Slept really well slept so well I almost miss breakfast. This is my second time here, but it's pretty good. They also have a little Mini bar that close at 10. Safety: Off the highway, but in a safe location. There are security cameras all over the parking lot and entrance plus the area is well-lit.
Overall, this was an okay stay. Wouldn't be too kid friendly. They don't have many channels to watch on the television. The air conditioner doesn't work well, and supposedly, since the heat had not been turned on in a while, it set off the smoke detector within less than a minute. This had the room smelling like burnt hair for the remainder of my stay. Otherwise, the staff and breakfast in the morning were appropriate.
I often like this hotel. But last night was a different experience. The parking lot was closed, the pool was closed, at 7am I had a wake up call by 4 construction workers outside my window yelling and speaking nasty to each other in Spanish. I was on the 3rd floor and they were right outside my window. I had no warning of this and unfortunately my sleep was cut short. When I addressed the front desk they acted like I was crazy and basically told me to deal with it. Not to mention that the workers didn’t even follow proper osha regulations which I have also notified them. They did a ladder transfer from one portable ladder to another 30 feet in the air without a harness . Dude looked like he barely made it to the other ladder and would of been a pancake if he didn’t. I will start taking my money elsewhere. Thank you Cambria Hotel.
