Finding the perfect family vacation spot can be quite a challenge, especially when you have three energetic kids. That's why we were so excited to discover Lighthouse Point at Cedar Point. It provided our family with everything we needed for a fun and stress-free getaway. The campground is located conveniently close to Cedar Point amusement park, as well as the water park, allowing us to easily switch between thrilling rides and refreshing water attractions. What really made our stay special, however, was the range of activities available for kids. Our children were never bored, as the campground offered plenty of playgrounds, sports courts, and even a mini-golf course. On top of that, the full hook-up amenities at Lighthouse Point allowed us to have all the comforts of home, even while camping. The convenience of having electricity, water, and sewer hook-ups right at our site made our stay comfortable and hassle-free. The staff at Lighthouse Point also deserves a mention. They were always available to answer our questions and provide assistance whenever needed. They really went above and beyond to ensure our family had an amazing time. All in all, Lighthouse Point at Cedar Point was an amazing family getaway. We highly recommend it to all families looking for a memorable and entertaining vacation.
First off…the location and staff were amazing. We rented a cottage on the lake and it was a great spot to be right in the middle of all the action. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and polite. The people working at the store were also very friendly. It was good vibes all around. We did have an issue with the cleanliness of our cottage. The rooms were rustic and smelled musty. There was dust and cobwebs everywhere. For 450 bucks a night, I expect these things to be clean. It was almost perfect, minus the lack of proper cleaning.
Overall great campground with beautiful grounds, large level sites and view of Lake Erie was amazing. Less than 10 minute walk from dedicated entrance to Cedar Point. You get all the perks of staying on property such as discounted tickets and early park entry. Pool was not great but served its purpose, cool off get out. Would definitely recommend this campground if visiting Cedar Point.
Nice weekend getaway for the kids. Great location. Walking distance to the park. Private pool for guest. 2 room 2 bath. Two futons that are sleepers as well. 1/2 Kitchen & living room. The upstairs you cannot stand up if you're over 5 feet. Overall nice stay.Rooms: 5/5
Great place to take your family camping. Campground is well kept. Nice pool area that provided clean towels. Can access the beach close by and good proximity to both cedar shores and cedar point. It was great to be able to take a break from the park and relax at the campsite to have some reasonably priced food and drink. Really enjoyed being able to recharge for a few and then spend the rest of the day at the park. The grills on the premium sites are really nice if you remember to bring some charcoal. It's a bit pricey compared to many other campgrounds I have visited but the location and amenities make it well with the cost.
The staff is incredible but there were some things that soured the trip. Cabins were dirty when we arrived. Trash under the couches. Crumbs on the couches. Some liquid in the trash can. Ceiling fan was incredibly dusty. My sister is disabled and requires a wheelchair. My family called for a wheelchair accessible shuttle to the front of the park. Waited for 20 minutes before a gentle got off his shuttle to tell us that the 1 wheelchair accessible shuttle they had had been in an accident some time ago and that there were no plans to fix it. With the amount of other people I saw either in wheelchairs or motorized scooters there I find that to be unacceptable.
For the price $$$$, totally not worth it. There's no fire pit so don't bring wood. The picnic tables are filthy and full of spiderwebs. The pool at the light house was so dirty and full of debris. Finding a shuttle back from the park was a hassle, we ended up just walking back. There's no scheduled times for pick up. It was very disorganized. You'd think, you spend all this money they'd give you a pass into the park, but nope. Definitely our last stay.
One of the top three campgrounds we've ever visited, and we've visited at least a hundred. You pay for this privilege - so don't think it comes cheap. But the freedom to hit the park, come back for a lunch break, then get after it again is pretty priceless. Level concrete sites near the lake with cleanliness everywhere is what you can expect here. My only regret is that we only stayed for two nights. Highly recommend! Nearby activities: Best way to do Cedar Point! Walkability: The lake is a short walk, and the park is accessible by shuttle. As good as it gets!
Stayed at one of the cabins. The location is great, as easy walk to Cedar Shores or Magnum gate. It comes with early entry. Also it's nice to be able to go back to cabin in late afternoon when hot and tired, before returning to park at night. There is plenty of sleeping space, but there is not much headroom in the loft. Also 2 bathrooms are nice. If you are average height to tall, will need to duck to wash hair in shower. Overall this is a good place to stay. The cabin is small but used space very efficiently. Would definitely stay again.
We're not generally fans of all-hookup campgrounds, but we wanted to stay on the property, and were glad we did. CP has done a nice job with Lighthouse Point, well-landscaped sites, clean bathroom/shower buildings, a short walk to the resort entry gate and really, the staff make all the difference.Service: 5/5
