Terrible Experience -Price Surprise I rented an RV trailer lot for the summer season and was shocked to see my bill skyrocket. They charge me for water and electricity without previous notice. This lack of transparency is unnaceptable.Service: 1/5
We stayed for 25 days… we called to reserve for this many days and they found us seven different spots! We didn’t mind moving as we met and made many friends. This is an “Old Keys” park with many long term residents and many RV spots. Bigger rigs will find it challenging, but when “Michael” is working you will do just fine fitting into your spot. The beach area is really nice…. with accommodation of chaise lounges and chairs. Sunsets are unbelievable.
Wonderful place to stay on the keys, while traveling with an RV : Top Service, very friendly, clean, and a wonderful place to watch the sundowner. Perfect
I wish I could give zero stars. I have been camping since the 1960's and this is the first campground I ever left without staying because I did not feel safe. The dirty looks of the guest and the person who guided us to our spot, were spine chilling. There was only a few feet between my camper and a house trailer where a dog was barking and chopping at the bit to get us. The pictures do not give an accurate representation of how dilapidated and uninviting this place is. So after being there for approximately an hour, we found another campground and left. I talked to a manager the next day after and explained why we left. She seemed surprised and appalled but did not offer to give my $135 deposit back. I would not recommend this place and I will never go back, no more in life. This part of the review is being written two weeks after I was at Captain Jax and about a week after the first part of the review. I was contacted a few days ago by the owner of Captain Jax. He wanted to get more info about what happened. I explained what happened and he listens and apologized for what happened. That was the good part, then he brought up the $135 deposit. He said he would refund the deposit if I agreed to take down my post! It was my choice. I would not take down my post because that is the reason people post things, to let people know what kind of place you might pick to visit. Also I do not respond well to bribes.
Nice place for camping, and they have a ramp.
Safe and affordable place to tent camp, although sites are tight. Lots of RVs, probably 15 percent tent campers. Clientele are families and friendly retirees. All sites have concrete pads 10 ft wide, picnic tables, electric and water, Clean bathrooms, boat ramp and dockage for smaller boats and kayaks. Two fish cleaning stations, a small swimming area, and a small dock area for fishing and grilling. The biggest downside is the substantial traffic noise all night long. They put tent campers closer to the road, but next time I'll ask if we can stay farther back. The tent sites are no different from the RV sites as far as I can tell.
We lucked out with a good site. The location is perfect with restaurants all around. Wifi was spotty but the people were nice, everyone pitching it to help us maneuver into our spot. There are fancier parks nearby but I really enjoyed our stay.
We were parked right on the canal. We were able to watch pelicans feeding. I was pleasantly surprised in the park. No the park does not have very many amenities, but the views make up for it. If I were to come back to the keys, I would definitely stay here again.
Friendly residents who live in this mobile home park. There are a few tight sites for rv’ers. If you are over 30’, you might want to reconsider. We were in space 29 with our 40’ 5th wheel. I would not advise it. Yes, my husband is capable, however, it wasn’t fun. Safe travels all.
The place is amazing. The staff is amazing. Margaret and Ruth in The office cant say enough. I moved to Key Largo one year ago stay there my first four months and they did nothing but help me.
