Carilion Clinic Dental Care

This is a neutral review, because I couldn’t even get a referral through. The referral coordinator laughed at me repeatedly, even when I said I would get the appropriate documentation sent over “Oh that won’t be necessary”. The website says that they accept people with developmental and physical disabilities. My disability caused significant mobility impairment, changes to my mouth, impairs my wound healing and comes with other affected organs/structures. I had already gone to another dentist who didn’t know anything about my disability and refused to work with me. To top it off I have autism, which is listed as a qualifying disability. I’m not disabled enough and not autistic enough, even after life threatening complications and years of immunotherapy. I just wanted a dentist who would understand my disability and make my oral health worse than it already is.

I have been trying for over a year to get an appointment here. After being admitted to the hospital for dental abscesses that has caused my face to swell to astronomical proportions, I was sent to this office to get the two culprit teeth pulled. There new facility is so beautiful, the room was clean and staff was so kind. I’m glad that I can now be seen here and get my mouth fixed with confidence that they care about my well being and wishes. Thank you for the great care.

I’d love to be able to give a great review however I can’t seem to get an appointment scheduled, even after three separate referrals to their office. I’m begging, please… I need to be seen. I don’t understand what the issue is, I’m so confused and in agony… Are there some type of qualification’s required? Do I not meet the criteria? Does this’s office / clinic only provide services for emergency room patients? Oh my goodness what do I need to do to get in?? * Carilion, please?!

I had a great experience here! Everyone from the office staff to the hygienists and assistants to the interns and the doctors were absolutely wonderful to me. They were all so friendly, knowledgable, and attentive. My comfort came first which is very important to me as a disabled person. My dentures are beautiful! Thank you all so much for giving me my smile back! I cannot say enough good things about them!

My experience is great and I highly appreciate all the professionalism shown during my visits. I can not believe how completely awesome the entire staff are. I am a difficult case needing several other departments to concur my diagnosis. Thanks to all of them for the diligent care! My dentist, DR.BUCKWALTER, absolutely gave the most care of any physician in my 66 yrs and I am truly astounded by her professional and often difficult care. She broke my case open and follows me to this day. My highest regards go to the entire dental team. We are lucky to have this clinic at Carilion Roanoke Memorial! Crystal C McConnell

Folks are very nice but can't recommend them. The doctors don't follow up. They don't do what they say. It took 3 appointments to find a Cracked tooth and if you have pain they don't seem to care.

If i could minus a star I would. Worse appointment of my life. They made me feel like they were looking down there nose at me. I truly pray someone gives each one who was nasty there karma, and that someone makes them feel same way. And the dental work was shabby too i had to go back where she cut something wrong. Dont Go There!!!

Very friendly and professional service. State of the art equipment and great hygienist. I liked how they were respectful of my wishes to avoid the usual fluoride treatments toxic! without any argument at all unlike other places I have been.

Front desk receptionist that has been there for years is extremely rude and very very unprofessional. Also like every other review the consent forms are unbelievable!!! As a parent you feel obligated to initial the forms but I've always been able to go back with my kids and Dr. Jones has always been polite and good to my kids.

Needed Dental clerance for Radiation. Dr. told me I needed all my teeth pulled to proceed with Radiation. After pulling them I asked for a letter stating they were remove for medical reasons and she refused. I got the impression it wasnt necessary for me to have pulled my teeth Made me feel like it's a "chop shop" for getting teeth pulled and bill insurance. Then proceeded to tell me if I went anywhere else I needed her referral. Sorry Dr. I dont need your permission to never go there again.
