Located in Palm bay Rd shopping plaza near 95 and next to Academy sports store.. really nice building with a lot of theatres inside, neat and clean, not crowded, concessions and kiosks are available inside for the convenience of customers. Would love to go here again.
Seating is super comfortable in the IMAX theatre. I especially liked that you can lift the arm rest and make your seat a sofa. Displeased that no one is cleaning the ladies room stalls . No tp and the walls and ceilings were super dusty , grimy handprints all over the doors and stalls. Btw I went to see Flash about 3 weeks prior and saw the same filthy bathrooms that I saw again yesterday. Couldn’t find an employee anywhere to ask for tp ? Clean up AMC . Try harder.
I didn't wanna leave a review but we're so annoyed because AMc corporate & the local workers just seriously, oBV don't care. I was told to email corporate but they haven't replied anything other than, "due to an unusually high amount of emails, etc.." The manager here, Adam, even recognized they have a lot of issues and that "Viera has even more issues," only stating that after I told him we've boycotted that location for years. So, I wasted my 5$ reward, bday popcorn & drink reward &out time&effort to make it to a movie showing that SHOULDVE BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO SAFETY HAZARD. They only cancelled it AFTer the fact that we had to go ask to turn off the lights! Stated it was safety issue and no one is allowed in that theatre. Then why didn't the 4 crew members NOT SAY ANYTHING BEFORE WE GOT IN THAT ROOM!? They each were blaming the other person for why we werent notified before. There was not another 3d showing and they acted like telln me showtimes for 3 hrs later or suggesting Viera was adequate to make up for it. They didn't offer anyting but 4 vouchers, that I didn't even want! I am A*List & all I asked was a replacement of my rewards. It's clear management here has no control or even CONCERN! There was 4 of us, 2 kids- stoked to finally see a Transformer & they made us realize that it's never worth going here. We're in between both local locations & were at a pt where going to Disney Springs or Cinemaworld is a better option. Yeah IMAx is cool, but it's so overrated, espec here. Thanks for convincing us to invest in a better TV with good sound system than to waste our time & energy again- all to possibly have the "movie magic" ruined by their low quality service, burnt popcorn, dirty seats & LACK OF CONCERN FOR SAFETY. No movie is worth that!
Been to this theater twice in the past few months to see screenings of the Studio Ghibli films and both times we had a negative experience. Last time the AC was not running and the theater was incredibly stuffy and warm, and they did not turn the lights on so everyone was using phone flashlights to avoid tripping as they found a seat. It's as if the staff completely forgot about this room in the theater. Went again last night and we arrived 5 minutes early to our 7 PM movie, to find that the movie was already playing and appeared to be 5-10 minutes in. People were still arriving a few minutes after 7 as well since usually they would only be missing the trailers, and this seems especially unfair to them. With that said, we missed what I was told was supposed to be a very important scene and the premise of the movie. The room was considerably warm again, though we noticed it cooled down closer to the end of the movie. I can understand some human error on occasion, but twice in a row and at $12.62 a ticket, this seems incredibly negligent on behalf of the staff. The movie quality was fine and the theater wasn't particularly clean or dirty, just ok. We saw an older film so I didn't expect it to be particularly sharp, so I can't rate the quality of the screen. We will likely be taking our money elsewhere from now on, though it is disappointing given that we live within about 5-10 minutes of this theater. Still, it's worth it to go elsewhere for reliable air conditioning, lights on at appropriate times, and to see the whole movie that we paid for.
My first time in a long time at a IMAX theater and wow! Will make an effort to see everything in IMAX going forward. We went to the 3:30 show on a Friday evening and it was pretty empty. There were maybe 10 other people beside us there. The theater was very clean and the seats were comfortable. I liked being able to reserve our spot and the stadium seating helped avoid blockage by those in front of you. The sound was so impressive and I really felt immersed in the movie with the huge curved screen. I would say my only complaint would be the popcorn. Movie theater popcorn should be so delicious that you can't stop eating it..well we had no problem stopping eating it. As a matter of fact we didn't even finish our bag since it tasted kind of stale and rather greasy. Otherwise a great experience. We'll be back in a couple of weeks to see the next thing on our watch list!
12-31-22 We saw Avatar2. My first impression upon entering was not good, and it didn't get better from there. So much stuff is broken it is obvious management doesn't care. The ugly details: Half of the signage above the counter didn't work. So we had to guess as to what popcorn and soda cost. 25% of the soda machines didn't work. The ones that did work didn't have all flavors of soda. None of the marquee signs near the theatre doors worked. When we got to theatre #6 it was a proper cool temperature. The projector was dim and cycled between dim and brighter in a constant annoying flicker around 6 times or more per second. Dark scenes almost all scenes muted this effect until brighter scenes happened and pulled me from the film for the flickering. I will have to see movie again for all the details I missed in the 3/4 of the movie that was extra dark due to the poor projection quality. They did not start previews until 20 minutes after the start time. 15 minutes into the previews they started 3d previews. The house lights were still on 40 minutes after the movie "start" time, making the dim, flickering previews unwatchable.
I'd give 4.5 stars if possible. Lots of theaters. Good sound system. Good seats. IMAX theater not quite true imax since they don't offer the 16/70mm format or IMAX Laser but it's still a slightly bigger screen than the other theaters. Some of the theaters might have sound leakage from the bass of particularly loud explosion or roar sound effects next door. But 97% of the time it's fine. Great drink machine with the flavor mixer. Popcorn, drinks, good intake. A nice lobby with a separate exit hallway to prevent entrance crowding. Restrooms are fairly maintained. No AC issues like some theaters.
Theater has so much potential. LOCATION!!!! Biggest problem is maintenance and management. I am a stubs member and this location is close to me otherwise I'd go elsewhere. Bathroom is never maintained. Same issues with drink area-never gets addressed. Wish owner would sell this theater to someone who cares and wants to be profitable while providing a good experience.
Worst customer service experience. Ordered a hotdog that took over 30 minutes to serve. Fairly certain it was the same “old” hotdog that was sitting on the rollers when we arrived. Also, we were looking forward to fresh-popped popcorn. Yet, this location serves only pre-made, warmed up popcorn . Will find another movie venue with better customer service.
If I'm going to splurge on the big screen, it' got to be iMax. I've seen three or four iMax showings here, and they've all been great. No technical difficulties, no late starts, no sound intrusions from neighboring theaters... just 100% customer satisfaction
