We were here last year from LA, and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, this time, the food was horrible! I ordered the fish taco combination, and the fish tacos weren't even batered. They were grilled and chopped into pieces. At first, i was like hmm they still look good, but unfortunately, they weren't. I asked my husband to try it, and after doing so, he started to feel ill. My husband ordered a mocajete with extra meat, and it turned out to look more like a caldo de salsa with only 2 small pieces of chicken and 2 small pieces of meat. A molcahete should have at LEAST had a nopal and green onions, Queso, jalapeños and, etc. The only good thing was the rice and fresh guacamole. We still end up eating our food because food is sacred. Wouldn't come here again.
This place was awesome! Very nice atmosphere and almost empty at 11:30 AM. Great service, food, and decent prices.Food: 5/5
I arrived around 11:30am on a Monday, for lunch, dine in. Only one other table was seated. The menu is HUGE, no lack of selection at all. Due to the immense selection, I decided to have a favorite dish since childhood, Chile Colorado along with a Corona Michelada. Everything was fantastic, the beef in the sauce was tender and delicious, the beans were refried to perfection, reminding me of my grandmother's, the rice with that hint of cumin was also great! Service, with a smile, was provided consistently. I will be back, with my family, on a busier night, to see how it holds up. Overall, the menu selection can be overwhelming, but the food is delicious! I will also try to gauge more of the atmosphere while busy. There was Mexican tunes played in the background, which set the stage for my meal, and provided an atmosphere in that sense. By the way, while ordering I was asked if I wanted the dinner, or lunch size. I chose lunch and was very full at the end of my meal, I wonder how much more food the dinner size has. . .
Stopped in for dinner after a long trip. Started with crisp and lightly salted chips and very good salsa. Added an order of guacamole. Ordered two chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. Added sour cream. Enjoyed a generous specialty Margarita while the food was prepared. Enchiladas were very good, chicken was flavorful and tender. Rice and refried beans were prepared just right. Arrived for a late dinner; restaurant was quiet with several small groups but appeared inviting and festive. Very nice bar area just off the dining area with high top tables. My waiter was great, provided a good level of regular attention without appearing intrusive. At the restaurant entrance, to the side, is a huge Gardenia bush loaded with fragrant, white flowers at the time of my visit. A nice welcoming feature. I plan my trips to Sacramento so that my day ends with dinner at “Casa Ramos.”
Went to Casa Ramos on Memorial day. The host greeted us with a smile and seated us quickly and brought fresh chips and salsa. Superfast response on the service. Loved the background music. Taste of food was authentic. Will surely visit again.
The taco meat that pulled beef was too spicy, the shell was very thin and fell apart, the refried beans were good but didn't get very much of them, I ordered flour tortillas and they charged me too much money like $4 three or four dollars and they were extremely thin.! The heart is in the right place but it's not very good Mexican food it's not one I would recommend at all. So sorry because they are very nice and helpful.
Love this place, great ambience and best part is the spicy salsa with chips. Had chicken fajita, shrimp quesidilla and chicken quesdilla. Everything was great and they are open to customize based on vegetarians.Food: 5/5
Restaurant was clean and staff was nice. Unfortunately the food was not very good at all. Ordered the basic chicken tortilla soup. Upon delivery, I was surprised to find it was literally tortilla soup. There were so many chips in the soup with little to chicken and chunks of cheese. There were no beans, corn, tomatoes, etc. I didn’t finish it. Ate the few chunks of chicken that could be found and called it an evening. My dad a very easy going and huge Mexican food fan got the enchiladas and said they weren’t terrible, but he wouldn’t come back. Won’t be back.
The food is ok, smaller portions, pricey, and mine was served cold. The drinks were amazing.Food: 4/5
Let me start this with the service was GREAT.. we were a large party {9} and they were extremely attentive. We've been to the Casa Ramos in Natomas and loved it, we went back for the margaritas specifically.. This location the food came out 1 at a time with probably a 10 min gap from the 1at meal to the last. The muy mucho margaritas were terrible, 1 at the old location was enough to make me feel tipsy, the ones at this location for all of us felt like virgin margaritas, super disappointing. The meals were plentiful and tasted good, but the drinks pulled the score down. We won't be back unfortunately it isn't as good as the Natomas location was, not worth the drive.
