Since 2011, CARE has collaborated with community partners to apply nursing expertise and scholarship to the issues facing older adults and those who care for them.
The UW–Madison School of Nursing’s Center for Aging Research and Education (CARE) was created in response to the critical need for nurses as our country’s population ages. Through our dedication to geriatric research, education, and practice innovation, we are preparing nurses to deliver optimal care to older adults.
We strive for innovative research and teaching strategies, development of relevant and accessible resources for practicing nurses, and collaborative engagement with health care and community organizations—all providing guidance for a new understanding of aging and the role of geriatric nursing.
