The Center for Global Studies and Exchange is a university-wide support unit aimed at facilitating the internationalization efforts of the university.
To achieve this goal, the Center works collaboratively with academic departments to enhance student and faculty development through workshops, study abroad, internships, exchanges, and other relevant international education program.
The Center for Global Studies and Exchange is a mechanism for facilitating the university-wide efforts to internationalize the curriculum across disciplines, in a fashion that is consistent with the President's vision of "Growing the Future and Leading the World." To achieve this goal, the Center works collaboratively with academic departments to enhance student and faculty development through workshops, study abroad, internships, exchanges and other relevant international education programs. The mission of the Center is to provide the different colleges, schools and support units of the university with assistance in developing an international focus to their programs and enable them to graduate globally savvy and competent professionals.
The Center will also provide support and assistance for the following:
• Study/work/internship abroad programs
• Student community service-learning activities in the US and abroad
•International student and scholar services
•Partnership for international research and education
•International exchange and collaboration agreements
•International faculty and staff development initiatives
•Faculty research and teaching abroad
•Programming that supports campus internationalization goals
•Serve as a gateway to the globalization of the local and regional communities and their minority populations.
•Seeking external funding to support its activities
•Teaching, research and service learning
