WHAT IS ENVIRONMENTAL MEDICINE?
Environmental Medicine studies environmental inputs and the individual's physical, mental, and emotional responses to them. It encompasses 4 important segments: Allergy, Toxins, Infections and Stress.

WHAT IS FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE?
Functional Medicine is patient-centered rather than physician focused & disease centric. The goal is to address the whole person & not just treat symptoms. The physician focuses on genetics, environmental & lifestyle factors.

WHAT IS INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE?
Integrative Medicine is the combination of conventional allopathic medicine with evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine treatments using the best, scientifically validated therapies available.

Dr. Allan Lieberman, our founder, the medical director and a former pediatrician, is board certified by the American Board of Environmental Medicine (ABEM) and a member in good standing of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine. He has been practicing medicine for over 50 years.

Our In-House Services: Medical Laboratory, Allergy Testing Center, Allergy Extract Mixing Laboratory, Thermography, Bio-detoxification Center, IV Therapy, Oxygen Therapy and Licensed Professional Counselor.

The Center is housed in 7,000 square feet of environmentally-safe medical offices, making it a restful experience for the chemically sensitive.

For four years I've had the esteemed pleasure  of working alongside the amazing staff at The Center for Occupational and Environmental Medicine. What Dr. Allan Lieberman and Dr. William Weirs have been able to accomplish with their patients is unparalleled to anything you'll find in the country. A combined 50+ years of professional medical experience, they're compassionate, motivated and determined to get to the SOURCE of your health issues. As a member of the staff, I too suffered from many ailments, auto immune conditions,  fatigue, Hidradenitis Supperativa, and weight management. Both Doctors jumped right in to help me manage my health care and providing a treatment plan that was thorough and personalized. They put me on a supplement protocol that not only managed my weight loss but it has helped with my energy and fatigue. I take those daily and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY RESULTS!!! the physicians liebermann and Weirs have given me so much useful information since 2001 which is generally available 5-10 years before it is considered general medical information. Dr Weirs has given me insight to help me understand how systems affect one another and helped me avoid knee replacements.

Really appreciated the help and insight that Dr. Weirs offered. Was glad to speak with someone so knowledgeable about mold, Lymes disease, and other illnesses. Spent an hour during the consultation with him, talking about the different illnesses I was concerned about. Per recommendation; I also started taking the DGL PLUS - LICORICE / SLIPPERY ELM supplement for my acid reflux and Gurd. And I must say, I was taking 3+ Tums per day & I haven’t taken one in weeks! Will definitely be purchasing those again!

I hope you don't have issues that need COEM, but if you have immune & environmental issues, there are no others in whom I'd put my trust before Dr Lieberman and his team. I first went to COEM in the late 80's during my early college years, during an extreme bout of total systemic overload. I'll never forget arriving there - hobbling in jogging sweats and on crutches, with my knees so swollen I could not wear jeans, could hardly see straight due to the non-stop migraines chemical induced that i'd been having for months, and unable to think straight. The staff helped me thru intake, history, and did a deep-dive into my issues over an hour or two.  Then Dr Lieberman came in, met briefly with me, and after a bit they said they would be able to help me with the pain before I left for lunch.  The first treatment they did was absolutely miraculous - I was able to go out the door in 30 minutes without crutches, able to walk and talk, and even my headache was gone. within 12 hours I had virtually no swelling. Calling it virtually miraculous is well....accurate. That was the start of something completely new in my life, for which I can never thank them enough. I was able to resume college, play sports, start a career, and continue my life. It took 3-5 years of diligent treatment to fully recover my immune system which was exactly what they had originally told me, but I was able to travel the world for decades as a result of the treatments Dr Lieberman & the team worked up for me. There are very few MD's who are truly leading their fields. This is a group who aren't just the leaders-they are the pioneers.

I have been a very brittle allergy patient since 1980, and I know from personal experience how hard it is to find a really good allergy treatment center. COEM is a world-class operation using methods that are two generations ahead of the Johns Hopkins scratch test method in common use across the United States. People with serious immune problems such as myself are not candidates for traditional scratch testing, and COEM is one of the very few viable alternatives.  This treatment methodology saved my life back in 1980 when I was dying of an immune system collapse following cancer treatment. Doctors & staff are very nice, compassionate, efficient, thorough, friendly, & knowledgeable. They use the only allergy testing & treatment injections, provocation-neutralization, that work for me.

I would not recommend this practice I expected more for $3000.  During my time at COEM I never felt like a patient. I felt like a consumer. I felt like I was an inconvenience. Do you ever go to a doctors office and you want to scream because you feel like no one’s listening to you …that’s what I feel like here. They have a cookie cutter approach, so it doesn’t really matter what you say.  I wish I would’ve went with Cell core. It’s not a cookie-cutter protocol and it’s 1/3 of the price. You can call Cell core directly and they will provide a practitioner in your area. I’m not saying COEM‘s protocol won’t help you I’m just saying you can get an equally effective protocol for a third of the price and it’s tailored to you. Every time you go to a new doctor your taking a gamble with your money ...why gamble with 3000 when you can gamble with 1000. From the research I’ve done cell core is the only company that has gotten results while people are currently living in there mold, toxin environments. I didn’t feel well coem protocols but I haven’t had any side effects with Cell core. when I reached out to coem to tell them, I wasn’t feeling well and ask them what to do. I never received a return phone call.  Maybe it was an off day for them but I have seen dogs at veterinarian offices that were treated better than I felt like I was treated. In my experience, I made the wrong choice by choosing Coem

Addressing root causes and treating the whole person is critical for wellness.  The wealth of experience and high quality products is outstanding. In my experience with my daughter I could have wished for a video of our visit, a 30 min afternoon follow up session with Dr. Weirs, and additional time with Cierra as described in the Advanced New Patient Appointment handout. This is why we booked two nights in a hotel. After our initial appointment, we were instructed to come 1/2 hr early the next morning before our Life Coach session so we could have that follow up. You can imagine our disappointment when we arrived to learn that neither Dr. Weirs nor Ciera were available. Also, the Treatment Plan handout was very confusing as much of it did not relate to Naomi and lacked detail about the different supplements, what they were for, and their order of importance for my daughter. The patient rep was very kind to get the products we had decided to purchase and did answer some of my questions but we went home feeling confused and overwhelmed. Larry is wonderful and made the morning worth it! I also appreciated Dr. Weirs' efforts in creating a treatment plan before we even arrived. Overall, I feel quite hopeful that we can fine-tune the treatment plan and get our daughter on the road to recovery. A helpful word about folks w/DS: Speak to the person as much as possible, with the parents as back-up. Use concrete language, speak slowly while making eye-contact, and above all give them a chance to be heard. Thanks so much for your help, and we look forward to working with you toward optimal help for our daughter.  We think we are seeing some small improvements already.

Dr. Wiers and his staff are effective, efficient  and have a warm bedside manner.  We love that the doctor never stopped working for us, even when typical oncologists gave up and told my husband to go home and die no exaggeration.  Dr. Weirs told us that they weren't giving up on fighting my husband's pancreatic cancer, and then proceeded to explain all the work he had done on my husband's behalf and gave us treatment options.  We will forever be grateful to these wonderful people.

Dr Weirs is an outstanding medical professional. I'm honored to be a patient of COEM. He is never in a hurry and ALWAYS treats me as if I'm the only patient he has to see that day. Amazing diagnostication. I've been a patient since 2011. I can say the same fabulous things about Dr Lieberman, too  I've been his patient the longest, but now see both MD's! Kind and truly caring doctors. I highly recommend COEM!!
