Our family of 5 took a private kayak tour on a beautiful Saturday morning in April in Morro Bay. What a special place! From the up-close, but not too close, encounters with herons, egrets, otters, a resting harbor seal, loons, an osprey catching, carrying then eating a large fish on the mast of a nearby boat, and a barge of noisy sea lions, this is the most wildlife we have ever seen in one outing. The bay there is so unique and easy to navigate with kayaks, particularly with John’s expert instructions and lead through the varying depths of water. We had a very calm morning, but the wind did begin to blow as we finished up and the temperature seemed to drop. Can’t recommend this adventure enough! Our 19, 16 and 11 year old kids also all gave it very high marks!! An unforgettable experience!
We had a wonderful half day tour. Our guide Jenny was knowledgeable, friendly and fun--we learned a lot about the ecosystem and history of the bay and had a great time! We saw otters, seals, and too many beautiful birds to count--and learned about the oyster farming history of Morro Bay. Highly recommend!
Had an absolutely incredible experience. The sunset tour was informative, easygoing and stunning. Kayaking at night was a completely different feeling. The wife and I loved the ride, the stop on the sand, and the wine was a perfect touch. We'll definitely be coming back with friends.
We had a great time! Our kids enjoyed his first kayaking experience. They loved watching sea otters, anemones, sea cucumbers and starfish. We learned a lot about the Morro Bay area, its estuary and its history with Jen, our tour guide. Despite the windy conditions, we were able to spend some time on the sand dunes, which the kids loved. Highly recommended!
The kayak tour I took was the half day classic and it was so much fun. This kayaking experience is the highlight of my trip to SLO, the Morro Bay area is beautiful and I loved learning about the ecosystem there and seeing some wildlife. Our guide Virginia was so nice and she made our experience memorable. I would definitely recommend kayaking with them and I would go back again!!
Highly recommend the sunset kayaking tour! My boyfriend and I went as an anniversary gift and it was a blast. Our tour guide Ocean Mike was very outgoing and kept us well informed about the history of Los Osos and the bay. We got off our kayaks at sunset and got to walk a beach by ourselves followed by yummy snacks. We definitely want to go back again. :
It was magical being out in the water, surrounded by birds, and in the skillful and knowledgeable company of our guide, Ocean Mike. We learned a little bit about everything and came back euphoric with the beauty, zen, and great vibes. Even after the tour had finished, Mike and colleagues shared great stories, local natural history wonders they had on hand, and gave recommendations for local experiences. This company is extremely organized, safe, super fun, and clearly in it for the love of the ocean. Highly recommended!!
The tour with you guys was so much fun. We were worried about communication with the guide because we are Koreans. And it was my first kayak. But guide John gave us a perfect tour by picking only easy English that we could understand. The explanation of birds and marine animals living in Morro bay felt like returning to a child and studying with a kind teacher. Lunch was much better than I expected. It was a valuable tour.Thank you, John and Virginia!
My boyfriend and I did the Half Day Classic guided tour with John as our tour guide. John was excellent. His knowledge of Morro Bay, its wildlife, and its history was fantastic. Dealing with Central Coast Outdoors was a great experience from beginning to end. We were even upgraded to the next highest tour. Overall a wonderful experience!
Amazing trip, our guide Dave was super knowledgeable about the area. We saw several otters and seals, so many different birds I lost count and all kinds of flora. Dave gave us a great education on the geology, human history and natural history of the area. If you are in Morro Bay, go on this trip!
