Great park in Ione. Disc golf course has been getting a lot of love lately and the new layout was fun to play...thanks to whomever is responsible for the design!
So I'd like to start with this place does have a dog park. However the surrounding area has "No Pets Allowed" signs in every direction leading to it. Park is alot of dirt and glass for your dogs. The only real grass area is the baseball fields and a small child's park. As a dog owner I gotta say I'm worried about their paws at this park and for good reason.
We went to Howard Park in Ione for the grandsons soccer game. The fields were well kept and we enjoyed watching the game..
Out here for another Ione Homecoming. Great family atmosphere and fun for all.
Very nice park but needs shade around the baseball diamonds desperately!! Make sure you bring your easy up!! Playground: I think it needs an upgrade didn't really care for the plywood that I couldn't see my grandchild!! The tables there were kind of janky! Just overall I believe it could use an uplift! Restrooms: Clean! Soap, running water, paper towels!! I was there for 3 days in a row and it was stocked and clean all three days!
Not much shade near the ball fields where one can observe the games but the park is otherwise very nice. Restrooms: Clean, orderly, well stocked.
Plenty parking, clean park & the event was healed at the Hall inside the park. Very nice building too. They rent the Hall for events.
This was a great place to stop in the late afternoon to get some wiggles out. The shade was really nice since it was still 100 degrees at 630pm Playground: The ground is made of shredded rubber bits Restrooms: A bit of a walk but was surprisingly clean. Needed refill on the soap. Picnic area: Cute tables off to the side, but somewhat weathered.
This course is still being worked on. The fairways are still very new and rough. However I had a really fun time playing the course. There was a lot of technical tight wooded lines as well as a couple of open shots. This course plays fairly short with no par 4s or 5s. Still fun though. There are no benchs or trash cans. The tee pads are rugs. Lots of potential at this course!
Great skatepark, but crowded with scooter kids and toddlers on weekends, also I wish the city of Ione would maintain the park more, i almost killed myself on a rock several times.
