"As the leaders in drive-thru for over 30 years Checkers & Rally’s locations are currently open and ready to serve our guests. We can provide our guests with the additional safety of an enclosed kitchen and limited personal contact – whether you choose to drive up, order ahead online, or have our food delivered. In response to concerns around the Coronavirus we have closed the few dining rooms that exist in the Checkers & Rally’s system and are limiting the number of people on our patio and at our walk-up windows. We are reinforcing our policies, including frequent and proper handwashing, along with the proper utilization and changing of gloves as we continue to serve our guests."

Stopped by for some dessert. I believe it was the manager that made my ice cream cone. She apologized that it wasn't made to her liking. I reassured her that it looked fine and was ok. Well to my surprise she gave me an extra cup of ice cream due to the ice cream in the cone was a little on the smaller size. Great customer service and she went above and beyond. Made us laugh also. Earlier we tried going to McDonald's because my wife wanted coffee. We tried to get ice cream from them since we were there. Of course their ice cream machine was down due to cleaning. This was 730pm !! Checkers saved us and was able to take care of our ice cream craving. Thank you Checkers for having functioning ice cream machines and good employees.
We love Checkers. They have the best fries and their value menu is still a great deal, unlike other restaurants who have really moved away from value pricing. Today's order was great, they did forget one of our drinks though. No big deal. We sat outside to eat which was nice. Food was out fairly quickly, but I don't mind waiting a little longer when I know they're cooking it fresh and hot right when I order it.
Highly recommend their food here! It is absolutely phenomenal. Probably my new favorite fast food joint. I ordered the Triple Cheeseburger, chili dog, and a set of hot wings. They were all cooked perfectly, the meat was tender and juicy, and the ingredients all tasted fresh to me. Only downside I could see was a lack of a bathroom nearby without requiring a short walk to a restaurant nearby. That is simply the nature of this restaurant, as it operates on drive-thru and window ordering rather than in-store. Highly recommended.
I haven't eaten fast food in 5 months. Decided to go to Checker's tonight. I have not eaten checkers in years. I ordered a mother cruncher combo. The price on the menu said $6.29. When I paid it was $8.02. If I was GOING to be charged for changing my soda to a shake I should have been TOLD. I asked "can I substitute a shake for the soda" and was told yes. This is infuriating to no end :
A great inexpensive restaurant with a good menu. Fast, friendly and courteous service. Generally a nice clean atmosphere. They have exceptionally good burgers and fries. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a fast food meal. Unless the weather is bad, because it is strictly walk-up or drive through ordering.
So tonight I brought my son to this location for some ice cream and when we got there the women taking our order was VERY RUDE and when I pulled up to the window she had no uniform and was dressed like she just left the gym. Had headphones hanging from her ears and wasn’t even paying attention to me. I ordered ice cream and apple pies. When I get home I put my children to bed and I took out my pies and I was astounded by what I saw the pies were completely burnt and the inside was so brown it was almost black I was absolutely disgusted. My Bestfriend used to be a manager at that location and things were always done right. But tonight made me realize I will NEVER EVER go back to that location.
This place used to be one of my favorite fast food joints back in the 90's, but nowadays every time I come here, they have more and more items on their menu that it's overwhelming. And the sandwiches here are never consistent. Their ice cream always melts almost as soon as I get it. The only decent thing here is their fries. The last 2 times I ate here, it went right through me and I had to run to the toilet, then take some Pepto Bismol.
I have had both good and bad experiences here but lately its been more bad. The milkshakes in the last two times Ive been here have had a bitter old grease/possibly chemical aftertaste that takes almost a week to get out of your mouth no matter how much brushing and gargling Ive done. Even went back the first time to get a remake and still the same thing. The last time I went, which was Sept 3rd. the red headed girl with no hair net and her hair all over the place, looking so unkempt in her street jacket, no uniform, was so rude when taking the order over the intercom! I have seen very friendly and helpful people working here in the past, and I understand that covid has made some of those people stay out of work. But some of the workers there now, you can tell they're just there for the paycheck and don't really care about selling good food or giving good service. I used to love coming for the milkshakes and the ice cream cones alone, but now I have to take my business to Holiday or Safety Harbor because I don't want to end up in the hospital with whatever is making the shakes here taste bitter.
Stopped by today, Thursday 10/24 must have been short staffed. I noticed two drive thru customers leave w/o buying or getting their food. The food is cheap, we all know it, and if you don't then get educated. 2 burgers, fries, and a drink for $3.50? Anyone in their right mind should not expect 100% Angus Beef, Fresh Tomatoes, etc. But maybe ownership should pay a bit more to their employees, not the kid working short shifts, 10 hours a week, but the uneducated adults who have no other alternative. They are working 30 plus hours a week for pennies. Some dont know any better, need constant training, leadership to excel somewhat. Giving them a few extra dollars will incentivize. If not, fire them and keep replacing them with people looking for a hand up not a handout
This checkers USED to be one of the best. As of a few recent visits there has been under cooked chicken and cold burgers. The fry person gets an A, they're always fresh. P.s. They never answer the phone.
