Started the summer reading program today! Staff and volunteers were all helpful.
I had a good library visit because I felt safe..thanks to the library security. The internet is signal is consistently good. On the weekdays, the best time to visit is anytime in the afternoon before 5pm especially to use the desktop computer. Overall, I would recommend this library location for residents in Lakeview area.
A very convenient place to access CPL resources near Lakeview. The holdings, computers, internet, etc. are all top notch, and the staff is very friendly, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the manager makes no attempt to limit the noise, the staff themselves being a major contributor to all the loud conversations that are a constant. Would definitely recommend, but bring earplugs or headphones to drown out the noise if you need to read or focus. Also, don't wake the security guards, the snoring helps drown out the talking like white noise.
Staff have pretty nasty attitudes ngl, maybe a few bad old cranky apples are ruining the batch
The least quiet library I've ever been to. Great if that's your thing, but it's not just the kids, even the staff was shout-talking to each other and I left after 15 minutes. 5 stars because it's still a massively beneficial and free public service :
December 9, 2022: Oh wasn't prepared. I forgot my cell phone. I made the best of it. it was empty about 1 PM. Cool nothing went wrong other than no phone. September 13, 2022: Because I didn't go to Budlong yesterday, I went to Lincoln/Belmont today open till 8 pm. The library was slow. quiet, and accommodating for a change. I order on Amazon, and handled a variety of tasks within an hour beating my usual time at Budlong. I had my confidence back; I had no jitters. A perfect day at the CPL. I missed something. I have to go back soon .
Sweetest people working here, anyways on watch to help and give advice with my computer and printing tasks, can't be more grateful for what the do
10/10 library branch. Cozy space. Usually quiet if you need to write or study. Holds are easily accessible. Staff are genuinely nice. I miss it so much. Please reopen soon.
Great place to remind yourself of the importance of birth control
I come to this branch more than most. Some reviewers complain that this branch is noisy. I'm guessing that are sensitive to noise. Yes, you may hear kids talking but I don't think it's too bad and I have a hard time focusing in cafes. I love bringing my own kids here and appreciate that the book collection, toys, and activities available help to inspire a love for books in children. As with other Chicago public libraries I have visited, the staff is very friendly and computers are always available if you need to use them.
