The Office of Civic Engagement provides service, advocacy & experiential learning opportunities for St. Mary’s students, rooted in the Marianist charism.
Community service and civic engagement are at the heart of what it means to be a part of a Catholic and Marianist university, which calls us to involvement in and service to our community and society at-large. At St. Mary’s University, we are dedicated to graduating students who have a quality education and who are also civically engaged.
That dedication is a part of not only our University mission but also a foundation of a Marianist education. Our students are involved in the community through academic courses, special projects spearheaded by faculty and staff, and student events sponsored by various programs and departments on campus.

In doing so, we provide opportunities for students and alumni to:
EXPLORE and identify personal, career, and life directions through assessment, advising, programs, and events.
CONNECT the university community to corporate, governmental, and not-for-profit partners to promote experiential learning opportunities.
EXPERIENCE internship, career, volunteer, leadership, and civic engagement opportunities in order to build the skills and confidence needed for personal and professional success.
SERVE the needs of our community -- local, national, and global -- as is taught in accordance with Catholic Social Teaching and the Marianist Charism.
