We are a full service gym established in 1995, located in the Meadows Shopping Center in Portage, Indiana.

We are a highly motivating, friendly, clean fitness facility, with a helpful staff.

Classic offers babysitting for our members as well as fitness classes which include everything from toning, pilates, cardio kickboxing, boot camp, zumba and more!

We have a wide selection of cardio and weight equipment. Our pro shop offers nutritional shakes and drinks, vitamins, supplements, clothing, and accessories. Classic offers personal training and massage therapy.

We have many services, as well as aerobics and free babysitting set up to accomodate all those parents that want to enjoy our gym.

Our goal is to provide each member with excellent service and personalized attention.

Stopped in for a day pass while traveling and couldn’t have been happier. I have been to many private and military gyms throughout the world and Classic Bodyworks easily ranks in the top three. If you know equipment, you will know they have nice stuff. Texas and Rogue deadlift bars on both platforms. Rogue powerlifting bars in the racks. The only downside is they don’t allow chalk. I know it’s tough to clean, but those really nice bars are made for a chalked grip. That’s minor stuff, though. This is way better than a big corporate, chain gym. Support a local business that is really nice!
Honestly the best gym around for the price. It's open 24/7, 30$ a month, and the atmosphere is extremely motivating, and gives off a different vibe than most franchise chain gyms. It's great for beginners, as well as seasoned athletes and gym goers. If you're looking to get access to more equipment, and take things to the next level, or just start out with the best place possible to meet your goals, this is it.
I've been coming here for years. It's a great environment with numerous weight machines, free weights, cardio equipment and a lot more. It's a very friendly and family oriented establishment that is open 24hrs, 7 days a week. They also have free child care during the day and a fair priced membership!! Definitely recommend!
Love the old school gym vibe and the owner was very helpful and welcomed me right in. Recommend it if you are looking for a gym.
All the new 1 star reviews are spam of one girl's negative review and not reflective of how the gym actually is-- nor are they from actual members. As a woman who's been a member for years I've loved this gym more than any other I've been apart of. Locally owned and has all the stuff. 10/10 recommend.
Great owner, great location, great selection of equipment, good lockers, nice people. What's not to like? Fee weights, weight machines, kettle weights, aerobic balls, treadmills stationary bicycles, stairmasters, elipiticals, men's and women's shower and locker rooms, boxing equipment, just about everything. Classics is a great gym and the staff treat you like family. My wife and I have been members here for a number of years now and I can’t recommend this gym enough. No matter what level you’re at on your fitness journey, this gym will be a great fit for you.
This is what happened to a friends wife. Yesterday a man approached my woman in the gym about her getting on a machine that was not in use. He was talking with his friend 20’ away without a bottle or sweatshirt left behind to hold a place then proceeds to demand to keep using the machine she just got to. The gym acknowledged after reviewing cameras his approach was aggressive and inappropriate, they acknowledged this shouldn’t have happened. They also said that my woman’s response was aggressive and she should’ve just let him run all over her and to not have defended herself basically. As a woman being approached by a man who clearly is on steroids with eyes bulging out in an aggressive way she’s supposed to back down and leave so he can do what he wants to do. This man was intimidating not only her but the worker was laughing because he didn’t know what to because he was young and intimidated as well. We asked the owner of the gym for his membership to be canceled because my woman does not feel comfortable working out there after the incident. it is the gyms stance that even though he was wrong they will not cancel his membership. I stated he could’ve went on talking with his friend for another couple mins while another person could get a set in, but instead he acted the way he did. Despite his inappropriate actions nothing is getting done. We left with my woman balling her eyes out for the second time and my shoulder soaked from holding her in the parking lot. I walked back in to cancel and the owner was laughing about it to his worker at the counter until he saw me. He made it clear that he wasn’t going to do anything about it and that he was ok with us leaving, my friends leaving, and my family leaving. I started a membership there 12 years ago roughly and have never had an issue with anyone there until now. The owner stated It’s a male dominated gym and they’ve made it clear it is going to remain that way.
For 30 years of my life whenever I needed to get back on track because of whatever happen I come home to where it a started. I feel so good when I leave because I left it all in the gym home sweet home
Great gym with plenty of machines and friendly staff. Prices are also affordable. I started there years ago when the fee was only $24/month. Prices have gone up a bit since then, but not necessarily a deal breaker. The best thing is that the gym is open 24 hours, so you can go workout anytime. Plenty of cardio machines and three squat racks. They also have two deadlift platforms, which is truly awesome. The only bummer is that they only have one bathroom stall, which in some circumstances can be problematic. Overall a great gym.
