Water very dirty. Not too crowded. Great playground and ok clean bathroom
Great family place! Very clean and maintained. Bathrooms could use some love but other than that a great place to spend the day! No pets no alcohol $3 a person cash or card. There’s plenty of picnic tables and a playground.
Nice little park. Friendly staff. Pull through, full hookup spots were nice. Did not check out the bathhouse.
We brought the kids and bbq on the grill. It’s clear sand and the water it’s very clean to be a lake. There’s a playground. You got to be out the water by 7 pm and the park close at 9pm. 3$ per adults and kids are free. Enough place to park. There’s some spot where can fish.
As far as the beach goes, it’s super nice. However, we drove 30 minutes and got here at 4 on a Saturday only for them to tell us that the beach closes at 5 and the park closes at 7. There is nothing online stating that, in fact it says online that they’re open until 9. And you can’t get anyone on the phone. Also, after making everyone get out of the water at 5, the lifeguard continued to sit there until it closed at 7 to make sure nobody didn’t even stick their toes in. Ridiculous. This is a Saturday and it’s summer, it’s 95 degrees out and we can’t get in the water. Also, there needs to be a rule against people blasting their music loud enough for the whole park to hear. We shouldn’t be forced to hear other peoples music. Do better Claystone.
We were using the boat ramp area. This area is very clean and well kept. Multiple ramps to use, we didn't have to wait for one to open. The day use area is well kept also. There are Frisbee Golf courses and picnic areas.
I have always stayed across the lake at arrowhead Park. Not anymore. This place is way less crowded. Spots are level A++
The check in/pay for swimming or boating process seemed slow but overall enjoyed the experience on the lake. Plenty of places to unload the boat and such. We enjoyed the lake as a whole
This *could* be a nice place but this park needs some serious TLC. I was appalled by the trash everywhere in the sand. While my kids played I was picking up trash the ENTIRE time. I found FIVE old nasty socks, straws, water balloons, an old bucket that's been there for who knows how long, cigarette butts, and other litter. While we were there the sand was being raked with a small tractor. But this area needs several people picking up trash for a morning not a simple raking of the sand. The playground area was better, not as much trash, but also needed weeding and new mulch. Also the life guard stands look like they need a paint job at a minimum and just make the place look unkept which it is. Overall it *would" have been worth the money to get in but I honestly don't know where the money is going.
Excellent campground. Very quiet and peaceful, just what the doctor ordered. Stayed 2 nights, and wish the weekend could have been longer. Very clean showers and the the staff at the gate are very friendly as well. Will be back for sure. If you want to relax and have a good time, this is your campground.
