Cocoa Brothers has been established with the idea of creating the original product, made the same way since it first appeared in Modica, Italy, hundreds of years ago.
In an era of industrialization, high-tech machinery, mass production and modified ingredients, Cocoa Brothers strives to deliver what we like to call a "chocolate from the past", a chocolate free of modern techniques or tools, just like our great-grand parents used to make in the 1800's.
We do that by making our chocolate by hand, in small quantities, tempering on a marble slab rather than industrial equipment, over and over again, using the best natural ingredients and no additives. That's right, our chocolate is made only with two ingredients: Organic Cocoa and Sugar.
But there is more.
We didn't only want to re-create the same old-style bar, we wanted to be fully immersed in the 1800's, just like if we traveled to the past using a time machine (maybe a DeLorean).
With that in mind we thought of creating our label by hand and we decided not only to make our chocolate, but to make our packaging as well! After quite some thinking we bought a 100-years-old letterpress powered by a foot treadle just like grandma's sewing machine. Our boxes, business cards and everything that is on paper, is custom-made. Our hand-drawn graphic has been converted into a stamp compatible with that letterpress, we print on recycled paper, then we use a custom-made die cut to cut the box's silhouette into the paper and finally we glue the sides. Multiply that by thousands!
We are proud of being able of making everything ourselves. Our business is our baby. We save money by making everything "in the house" rather than outsourcing and we deliver a product that is 100% hand made, top to bottom in Orlando, FL.
