Very interesting exhibits. The collection of 600 dolls in glass cases is worth the trip. Also of interest are the recreated dentist and optician offices. I'm old enough to remember when they were state of the art. The telephone switchboard reminded us of growing up in rural Minnesota. The staff is very nice and friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. The displays are clean and well organized. The building was built in 1988, is clean and well maintained, the lighting is appropriate.. Parking is on the property clean and level.
There is a good variety of interesting displays. It is always interesting to think about history and get a glimpse into how people used to live in the past. There is a little play room with toys and dress up that is fun for kids. The recommended donation amount is reasonable. The out buildings were closed due to rainy weather when we were there.
An eclectic mix of memorabilia is housed in this museum. You can tour for free, but there is a contribution container to help defray costs. There's a large display of military items and old guns, particularly rifles. There's also a doll collection, quilts, and turn of the century household goods. A few stars off for displays that are mounted high up on the wall, about 10 feet up. Impossible to get a good look at the items. Friendly and helpful people!
Wonderful museum and special programs. Very kind staff that love their job.
