Small airport in the heart of college station. It does have a tsa-precheck line that combines with regular tsa line so you don’t really save time. The security people there take their job very serious! My goodness. I’ve never waited so long for items to go through. They did make the simple process time consuming. There is a tiny convenience shop there for basic needs. No specialty coffees nor alcohol served there. No airport longe either. Lots of places to sit.
Small and cute airport. TSA line is super quick don't arrive before 8:30 am or the line will be close. Is the same line for TSA pre check but they provide a blue card to be identified during screening. The staff is super friendly. The airport has a small cafeteria for coffee and snacks. Bathrooms are clean and there is enough space to be seated and charge phones while waiting. There are only 2 gates and flights are limited.
As an Aggie, I have always been proud that we have an airport on campus. However, this visit a few years after graduation made me feel bad about this airport. No TSA pre lane open, so everyone has to go through the hassle of pulling every item that could possibly trigger the alarm. The officer insist on checking my groin area even though I had the same outfit in many other airports and never had any issue. At the boarding gate, the agent was so stubborn and would not allow me to bring a regular suitcase, a backpack and a small bag of clothes. They say it’s three not two so I have to pay $30 for checking in the suitcase. To summarize, greedy and creepy. I wish no one had to experience such bad service again.
My flight was delayed to Dallas almost two hours. They had another flight leaving to Dallas. I saw on my American Airlines app that I was changed to the other flight right before they were leaving. I went up front to get help but was told to get in line. I got in line and the plane left. I figured they knew what they were doing. When I finally got up there I told them what was going on. They proceeded to tell me that they called my name multiple times to come up. I heard names being called the last hour and never heard mine. I tried listening carefully just in case but I didn’t hear it at all. I told her that and that I never got any notification of the plane change. I just happened to look at my app and see it. This is unbelievable. American Airlines should be sending notifications if the flight is changed. I received many texts about the delay but none for the flight change. I also didn’t hear my name at all. If I can’t hear my name then what is someone hard of hearing supposed to do? They would be just as stuck as me. I’m so aggravated about the whole thing.
I can't believe how much this airport has changed since we first arrived in the B/CS area in 1983. The terminal was like a long farm shed with the desks along one side and exits on both sides. I remember going out of the building and leaning against the waist-high fence that separated us from the runway, me holding on to our kids and waving good bye to their dad who would walk from the building, onto the runway, and up the stairs of the small plane. We could see where he sat on the plane, and he would use his ticket jacket against the window to "wave" from inside. Of course, the airport is much more sophisticated now, with a secure area and all. There is even a food lounge, though that is within the secure area and not accessible if you are not flying. It is a two-story building now, and has been renovated at least a couple of times since it was built, so it is quite modern and clean. It just hit me today how much things have changed
If you know you have an appointment that is very important to you, I advise you go to another airport. My 5 am flight was reschedule thrice. I eventually left around 2 pm. It was a horrible experience.
Nice small quaint airport. Very current. Liked it
This is a small airport with only one carrier BUT service is excellent, TSA lines are quick and small. You can the entire facility at a glance which makes flying easy. But if you want to go past DFW you have to line up your flights carefully. There is a small coffee shop with snacks. Clean restrooms are easy to find. A lot of charging stations are avaliable also. I will continue to use this airport again. Just for how convenient this facility is and to use. There is also the different car rentals on the bottom floor near the exit.
I passed through Easterwood airport on August 28th afternoon for AA flight to Dallas. I had an isssue with the way my luggage was tagged and sought to clarify. The supervisor on duty at the check in desk a lady, whose name I forgot to ask for was compleletly lacking in customer services skills. The only thing more annoying than her ignorance was her arrogance. I would be embarrased to have such a person work for any organisation I lead. She is a disgrace to her employers. Interestingly the other two employees at the at the checkin desk that I interacted with a young man, and a young lady were rather pleasant, unfortunately their hands were tied by their arrogant and misinformed supervisor. Apart from the unpleasantness of the checkin bosslady, the airport experience was very nice.
The most adorable airport ever. Never any lines and staff is kind. Skip the big airports if you can. You won't regret it.
