Great hospital. Worked here years ago and have had a child born here. Staff is great. Rooms and the hospital is generally clean. A great hospital if you need to go to one.
We had excellent care at Moses Taylor Hospital. I dealt with the US techs, to lab techs to the labor and delivery to the mom and baby floor where all the nurses and doctors were nothing short of amazing! Our experience exceeded our expectations and we heard nothing but good things about having a baby at Moses Taylor!! If we could give more than five stars, we would. My husband was also extremely impressed with how well everyone worked together and how nice everyone was.
Went for a small procedure and although…. It’s not considered a fun one…. Marcy, Dr Hughes, Al & the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful! Marcy was above and beyond…. the questions she’s required to ask were not just simple answers and became emotional stories for me to tell. In my fears for the procedure and stages of grief.. I felt as if I had just been talking to a friend! She listened with compassion and spoke with empathy & she didn’t have to… she made me feel so much better preparing for the procedure and afterwards… I left there with a little less fear in my mind and less weight on my heart! In a busy facility… her job & patients were her top priority. Truly appreciate a great medical staff that love what they do and for good reason! It shows! Wonderful experience.
Moses Taylor has the best nicu nurses and doctors ever. In a tough situation they made my wife and I feel so comfortable and relieved while being there and when we had to leave our little one there over nights for the 6 weeks we were there. He is now 1 and doing fantastic thanks to the very amazing people in this hospital
My nurses made labor such a happy, healthy experience. Uthpaula was AMAZING! Such a patient, caring, and attentive nurse, takes a lot to care for women in labor and she does it with grace and a smile on her face Dr. Marji made sure to get the answers we needed and coached me through the process so well. Love seeing such amazing and patient women in this hospital!!
I would like to thank all of the staff on the labor and delivery and recovery for baby and moms unit for taking such great care of me my family and newborn! Highly skilled staff that not only do thier job right but show compassion to their patients! I have zero complaints and will never forget you guys! Moses Taylor # 1 birthing center in Scranton!!!!! Thank you so much
I delivered my baby in Moses Taylor during this past August. My spouse and I really appreciated the support we were given by staff. They have a nursery you can request to use at any time so you can rest after the delivery. They also offer food and snacks for free for the times when you might become hungry when dietary is closed. The healthcare staff are kind and responsive to your needs. I recommend Moses Taylor for delivering your baby.
I cannot express enough how this hospital is the top of the line. I am New to the area and recently got influenza A. I had to come twice to hospital due to the infection. Dr. Aikens and his nurse was amazing and the second Dr I saw on my last visit. This is the go to hospital. Top of the line. Recommend 110 percent. Best healthcare is priority
Nurse Kelly was more like Nurse Ratchet. I was uncomfortable entering into the ED Department. Then while I was eating, she ordered me to leave where I was which had become comfortable; to a high traffic area, near the entrance. This was disastrous and inexcusable. She needs to learn bedside manner. Helping should be a service done with a smile. It shouldn't be insensitive or unthoughtful.
This could have been a four or five star experience, but the intake process at Moses Taylor is awful. I am 16 weeks pregnant and had an urgent appointment for and ultrasound that my Dr’s office called ahead and made they are a commonwealth physician’s network practice for 11:00. I am already in the commonwealth system. I showed up 30 min early for my 11:00 appointment because my Dr wanted me to have blood drawn before my ultrasound, and was not able to even get blood drawn until after 11:20 let alone get in for my ultrasound. I spent 35 minutes in the waiting room and then another approx 20 minutes with check in filling out all of the same forms and answering all of the same questions I had already done at Moses Taylor 2 weeks prior and then again 2 weeks before that at my Commonwealth Health Drs office. What is the point of having a “network of Drs and hospitals” if you need to complete the same paperwork every time you’re seen? Then I waited for my orders, which my Dr had faxed over an hour and a half prior and were already loaded into the portal, to be located, coded, and keyed into the system and providing payment because full payment is required at the time of service regardless of whether or not this procedure needs to be submitted to your insurance company. This was an urgent appointment and I had been obviously upset and crying the entire time I was there. My radiology tech was the first person to ask if I was ok. Maybe 2 stars is too harsh of a criticism, but for a very frightened pregnant woman, this was an emotionally harrowing experience. Especially since this is the second time I’ve had this experience at Moses Taylor. The actual Drs, technicians and other staff are efficient and helpful, but they NEED to find a better way with their intake process especially when there are people there with appointments. I can only hope to not have to go back again until I’m ready to deliver. Hoping that will be a better experience. Maybe I will be able to give labor and delivery 5 stars.
