Very good and easy and inexpensive and close for families, I would say a very good choice for family fun, new to Minnesota? ah , welcome to the outdoor adventurous activity your children can learn here easily, they will love it!. OK but the season is not over yet, if you think you can do it, you can still for one more week , just thursday, friday, saturday, sunday, call to be sure but sure, we will show you how to do it, please come over this weekend Moms and Dads, uncles sisters, aunties can be inside and watch the sledding hill very easily from the "chalet" in summer the golf clubhouse the french fries and cocoa are very good plus lite beer
We had our first ski lesson tonight for our son and his cousins. I was so impressed by the staff working with the kids. They were patient and great with the kids. This is the perfect place to learn how to ski or just get in some good practice!
This was the perfect place for our kids to try skiing for the first time ever. We didn’t want to spend hundreds on lift/rental only to find out it wasn’t their thing after an hour. The Friday night family special 5-10 pm allowed our family of 4 to rent and ski for $60 total !! which is a tremendously good deal. It’s small, and the tow rope requires some learning curve, but our 2 kids ages 8 and 10 with zero experience ever were able to master it quickly. As a parent, I appreciated that the area was small enough that I wasn’t going to “lose” the kids - allowing me to relax and let them be independent without losing them- I could usually locate them visually from the bottom of the hill. I didn’t feel out of place as a mom who hadn’t skied in 26 years, either. The staff was tremendously patient and super kind/friendly as they outfitted our novice family with skis and boots, adjusting our bindings with care. For our needs and budget, this was a low-stress low-stakes way to introduce our kids to skiing.
Giving 4 stars for their affordability and decent amenities. Don't expect anyone to be out on the hill if you need guidance. Only one person at the top of the hill stopping the rope if someone falls mid-way up, a little help for the kids that fall would have been nice. The guy that was working when we went seemed to pick and choose who he would help up, which I found odd, left us standing at the bottom with a stopped rope for many minutes while the fallen person struggled to get up on their own. I also think they should suggest wearing snow boots out to the rope and then putting your ski boots and skis on. Walking over 300 yards in ski boots was a joke, specially for families with little ones, we saw many people struggling. Lastly, they DO have helmets available for rent. No where does the website say that, but why would it?! A little customer centered service would be GREAT. Now that we went once, we know how to prepare better.
My 7 year old boy and I had lots of fun on Thursday 7.15 pm beginner lessons . Shout out to our instructor Russ Swangler , his encouragement and patience was extraordinary. Ski gear rental place was very convenient and the staffs were friendly. Simply , great experience .
Great skiing place in the middle of the city. The trails are free, and with that don't expect trails that are groomed professionally daily, but they are taken care of. The ski rental is affordable as well.
Ski trails are closed for the year, and you cannot rent any ski equipment. since equipment cannot be taken off site No visible tree work taking place on the grounds, so this appears to be a cost cutting move. Sad!
Very nice place to perfect technique and a great place for beginners. Super cheap on Fridays, basically had the hill to myself for a while. Overall I would come back.
Awesome affordable family skiing in heart of Metro!!
Great year to have snow! Groomed nicely for skiing!
