90% sure I caught covid from going to the ER here where none of the doctors or workers wear masks. Literally this was the only place I went to for a prolonged period of time within a span of a month and I caught it shortly after. My friend just dealt with the same after going here. Please understand when you work in a hospital you need to be sure people DON'T get sick. I don't like to get angry on reviews but it's incredibly inconsiderate. Especially when an immunocompromised person is there.
I had sprained my ankle severely and all I had asked for is a doctors note so I can show my professors and contact the disability services in my college. When the nurse had called me her was of talking to me was super unprofessional. She said she can’t write the note since “I was trying to get out of work” which I thought was super rude and extremely unprofessional and no way of talking to a patient. She wouldn’t even let me explain my situation. I would avoid this place at all costs they didn’t even give priority even though my pain was 9/10.
My daughter was brought in by ambulance tonight, 6/30/2023 and was put in a hallway in a bed with no way to contact her nurse or doctor and was in a lot of pain. I had to call the ER and ask her nurse to go check on her, and instead, he ignored her and then allegedly proceeded to talk about her to another employee in a rude manner. I guess this is what the healthcare system has come to?? I sure hope nobody else or their loved ones has to deal with the awful bedside manner my daughter was given. Thanks a lot! Hopefully the next time she needs medical attention, she’ll go to Bay State or another competent hospital, because i truly feel the your hospital lacks the compassion and empathy the patients need and deserve! My rating for your hospital is a ZERO! I only gave you one star for the care the ambulance personnel gave her!
i had an accidental puncture to an artery on my wrist that was spurting blood but no one could treat me. first i was treated rudely and then i was ignored for over an hour, and then they were too scared to attempt treatment and sent me away. it turned out to be simple but they had to send me to baystate for treatment, which was a only a couple of simple stitches. what a joke.
Can’t say enough good things about the hospital and staff. While traveling from out of state, I had to make an emergency room visit. The entire staff was not only highly professional but very caring and efficient. Dr Chapin was extremely knowledgeable and took all the time needed to answer my questions.
The worst hospital you could go to. They released my little sister with a 95/47 blood pressure, she was having heart palpitations and so many other things - and they just released her with meds and shrugged. They did something similar with my great aunt years ago and she was found dead the next day.
My boyfriend was taken here the night of April 17th 2023 when he was having anaphylactic shock after accidentally eating peanuts which he is severely allergic to. When he checked in he was having so much trouble breathing that he could not get more than a few words out. The nurse took him to a room and then left him there ALONE. He was waiting for about 5-10 minutes and the breathing was getting worse, he had to stumble out into the hallway to alert someone that he was not able to breathe. The nurses just said “you can go back to the room the doctor will be there soon” even though he was frantically trying to communicate to them that he could not breathe. He had to wait another 5 minutes gasping for air until the doctor finally came in and gave him the epi-pen. Why couldn’t the nurses just have given it?! After he got the epi-pen the rest of the treatment was fine. The next day when he came home I was horrified to hear that the nurses had him wait alone with no supervision or monitoring for approximately 10 minutes before he got an epi-pen injection from the doctor. Especially because nurses are completely qualified to give epi-pen injections! 10 minutes may not sound long but it’s a LONG time to wait if you can barely get any air into your lungs.
I love Cooley! I live 30-35 minutes away and Baystate Noble is about 15 minutes away. Cooley Dickinson has saved my life so many times. If they can't handle what is wrong with you, they have no problem packing you up and sending you to Mass General Hospital via ambulance. I was there for x-rays today and one of the nurses from the floor that I always got put on saw me and came over for a chat. Nicest doctors, nurses, and staff. If you need a great Cardiologist go with Vikram Grewal and if you need a Pulmonologist go with Tonbira Zaman. She's saved my life numerous times and he's come in and overhauled my care and got my heart under control. They are the best!
Longest ER visit in my life. Going on 4 hours and still waiting. People tell me this is normal. Im from central MA. And thought to never experience something like this is rual Noho. Most I've ever waited in ER is less than hour my entire life. This is insane. Is this Brooklyn ny??? Are u kidding me! Either build another hospital or fix the system! Update: so yes, it took me over 4 hours to be seen. But every staff member, from transportation services, nurses, doctors were the kindest, gracious ever. These people are extremely overworked but they handle it with grace, integrity and a smile. I was impressed. I think the original statement is even more significant. We absolutely need another hospital in the area. The long wait time is because of the scores of people, needing service of which I've never seen for a small town area. The hospital staff is extremely overworked. Thank you all for being there! Let's get another hospital, Double the staff or something!
Wow , I can not thank the ER staff enough tonight. My daughter came in with extreme cough high fever and vomit , we were expecting a long wait but they got to us as fast as they could, every single one of them spoke softly and kindly to my daughter , explaining everything they were doing. She even got stickers and a teddy bear. The chest X-ray was amazing , only because they took the time to show her the machine and pictures . I really can express how reliving it is to have people that really accommodate all ages in the ER . We came in scared but left with smiles and relief on our faces. Thank you !
