"No frills, no fuss. It's all about the meat" The quote above is from the restaurant and is a perfect summary. This is the absolute best BBQ place I have ever experienced. They have a wide assortment of smoked meats highly recommend the big pork chop, a vinegar based sauce, great sides, and a good beer selection. The beef ribs and brisket were also awesome. Come in hungry and leave completely satisfied. I cannot recommend this place enough and wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
We were very excited to try out Coopers due to its close proximity to us. Overall the staff was nice enough, although it was our first time and the process could have been explained better. We ordered sliced brisket, sausage, and ribs. Overall passable but very salty. The ribs weren't fall off the bone and we had so much of just ribs left over between 5 people. The Mac and cheese and potato salad were good but the BBQ sauce was quite watery. There's a lot of seating for large parties and even a large room to be reserved. Overall not high on my list of places to go back to in the stockyards area.
You get a view of the meat while you order. Very accommodating of how much you want and what type of cuts. They have sides you can add on but the beans are complimentary. A lot of seating available. As far as food goes, it was very good but not one of my favorites. I’ve been to many BBQ places and my father BBQ’d every weekend growing up. Not an expert by any means just eaten a lot of BBQ The lean brisket didn’t have a smoke ring and it was a little dry. The beef rib was tender and the seasoning on it was good. We LOVED the pork loin and sausage! Turkey was ok, had a thick piece of fat on it and it was a little dry. Overall pretty satisfied. The service was great! Workers very friendly. We would go back and try it again.
Some of the worst brisket I’ve ever eaten! Very disappointing!!! We ordered a pound of brisket but only about half of it was eatable! It had about 1/2” of burnt shell that tasted like plastic and could not be chewed! Lots of fat! Meat was dry and the bbq sauce tasted like vinegar. The only reason I gave them two stars was because the beans tasted really good and the tea was fresh. This place does not represent Texas BBQ. It’s too bad it’s located in a high traffic tourist district. I can’t recommend this place and I’ll definitely never return.
Where do I begin. Excellent food, excellent service, couldn’t ask for a better barbecue eating experience out on my trip to Dallas. The thing I was looking forward to the most as I went out to Texas was the barbecue! And I was delighted greeted by the kind employees who told me what to order because I had no idea what I was doing. I ended up getting the pork ribs, brisket, the Mac and cheese and their house made corn. The brisket was oozing with juices you don’t see unless you go to a barbecue place that does it right, and it just melts right into your mouth. The pork ribs were the best I have had ever, better than my home town philz barbecue by far! The corn was excellent, had the right amount of seasoning and was very fresh, and the Mac and cheese was alright, I have had better. Overall it was more on the pricier side, and it was 5 dollars just to park but if you want good barbecue in the area go here!
On vacation from NYC and finally I get some good BBQ. The place is massive, everyone so welcoming and prices were affordable. Lots of parking and the decor is great. Thank you to the staff for making us feel welcomed.
Always our most favorite place to eat Bar-B-Que! We always make a stop here and eat when we are visiting anywhere within a 30 minute drive! The food is always the same, no matter when we choose to visit! And, every time we've brought someone new with us, they always agree it's the best Bar-B-Que they've ever eaten! The pork ribs are our favorites, as well as the apple or pecan cobbler. We were happy to have black eyed peas for new years as well as the normal pinto beans as a free side! I will say we were unhappy having to pay $5 to park on new years weekend. We have never had to pay to park here and were VERY close to leaving because of it. We did explain we were there to eat, but she said if we walk off the sidewalk, we would be fined if we didn't pay to park there. BECAUSE we had to pay to park, we took advantage and visited some of the Ft. Worth stockyards area.
The best pork chop I've ever had. Great joint, a bit expensive. Free bread, free beans, free jalapenos. The cobbler tasted almost indistinguishable from the mac & cheese. Maybe they get cooked together in an oven, I don't know, but they taste the same.
The chicken is the probably the best I e ever had. The skin was somewhat crispy and seasoned perfectly! The brisket BEBER disappoints. The beans all you can eat are some of the best you'll ever taste. My fiance says the potato salad is out of this world, and she is a potato salad critic! When you're in Texas, you have to make this one stop bbq heaven!
I've been to quite a few BBQ places around the country and this one is by far my absolute favorite! They have all the BBQ favorites with one selection that stands above all others, BEEF RIB! I have yet to find another place that serves beef ribs. If you've never had it, you NEED to try it! Coopers is exactly how every other smoke house should be. You can smell the meats from the parking lot. When you walk in you get to look at the menu and select from a wide assortment of meat. You even get to pick the actual cut of meat as it is right there in front of you. You then take your meat to the next counter to chose from a nice selection of sides and desserts. At the end of the line you grab a cup and pay for your meal. They have a large area to sit indoor and out so it won't be hard to find a seat. They have a drink bar with fountain sodas, sweet tea and pots full of free baked beans! Each time I've been here the whole place was clean and very hygienic. If you're ever in the area you absolutely need to try this place out. The staff are all friendly and you'll love your experience! Kid-friendliness: They have a nice selection of food for children of any age. They have a large eating area and the staff are friendly to all. Parking: Very large parking lot and plenty of space. Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps and it appeared there is ample parking for those who require close parking.
