Corner Bakery Cafe

The entrees at these bakery franchises always underwhelmed me over the years. The best one can hope for is some flavor and decent portion, which is what I ended up getting at this location. The pasta didn’t wow me but it had enough flavor and it didn’t make me feel hungry 4 minutes after the meal. The service was outstanding and it was a nice place to eat and converse with people.

Had a weird experience here. Granted, I was post-work-out tired when I stopped in on Sunday morning for a bowl of oatmeal because it was close to the gym I went to. I'd never been before and just assumed I could wait at the counter for my food. Employees saw me standing there and didn't correct me, so I didn't think it mattered. Then the busser brought out the food and realized I was holding the numbered card. I said something like, "oh, sorry, I can just sit right here; I was trying to make it easier but I guess not!" The guy asked me my name, and I told him. Then I heard a few employees right behind the counter repeating my name as if they were calling me, but they weren't, and they were laughing. Then the busser came back around and asked, "Working?" I just said "I'm fine, thanks," and he smirked. By this point I had put my earbuds in and just wanted to get out. I had planned on staying for a bit to have coffee and read, but I ate and left quickly out of embarrassment. I will never come back here. I worked in the service industry for years, and even if I was accidentally difficult in that moment, something you learn in the industry is that you don't EVER laugh about a guest within ear shot. Incredibly poor behavior.

Marcus, the manager, is the best. He was so kind to our family, and made us all laugh. The food was great, and quick. They were out of Dr Pepper and fixed it right away. Haven’t been here in years, our experience made us want to come back soon.

Great spot. Fresh and delicious food. Friendly and helpful stuff. Clean and spacious store. Aiden was prompt and caring and went above and beyond to help me. He definitely made my day better by showing that he cared. I can even say I admire your customer service skills. Thank you.

Positives: I did enjoy the food. Pomodori Chicken Panini was tasty with a hint of pesto mayo but very little chicken. Side of Honey Balsamic Grains was a little uncooked and cold but still good flavor. Chopped salad was what you would expect. Quiet environment with plenty indoor and outdoor seating. Negatives: online order to food being ready totaled 27min 12min longer than the order time projected. Many dirty tables. Value of food not so great.

I have to say that this is one of my favorite Restaurants to eat at. The food is amazing and is really Healthy for you. And I would like to say all there Employees were very polite, Respectful and professional. I give the manager a 5 star rating for running a amazing Restaurant. I highly recommend this place to everyone. So if your passing though skokie Illinois any time you should stop in and try there food.

Got a BBLT and it was horrible. What do you have to do to screw up a BLT??? Bread was barely toasted and kind of soggy. There was one small piece of tomato and the bacon was just kind of glopped on. It was pretty awful. The worst part is how dirty the restaurant is. There was dust all over and the floor could use a good vacuuming. If the restaurant area looks like that, then what does the kitchen look like? I will NOT be going back there ever. The woman who took our order and the person who brought the food were great. The manager was going around schmoozing people. Maybe he should've been cleaning instead.

I ordered the Power Breakfast Egg Bowl as I'm trying to eat better. They prepared and served me the Bacon Avacado Egg Bowl. I made it several bites into the bowl before I realized there was no pesto or ancient grains. I checked my receipt, and it listed the Bacon Avacado Egg Bowl. When I let them know about the error, they quickly made a to-go Power Breakfast Egg Bowl for me. So the customer service was excellent. It would still be nice if they were more attentive when taking the order.

Very good food!!! The panini tasted amazing, the sugar cookie was so good and the ice coffee tasted like no other. I plan to bring friends here this place was great!Food: 5/5

Yesterday, I bought a shrimp scampi linguine to go and what a shame, it was without shrimp! Being busy is not an excuse. Be careful, check your order before you go home.
