Hands down, some of the most down to earth individuals ever. John and Courtney walked us through every step of the way. Everything went so smoothly, which is so important during this time. I’d rate 6 stars to express how compassionate they are.
John, and the staff here made planning and facilitating the funeral for my father in law simple and as pleasant as possible considering the circumstances. John went the extra mile and helped us with VA related services and even presented my wife with a traditionally folded flag at the end of the service. The facility was by far the nicest and most modern funeral home I'd ever seen and I've probably attended over 2 dozen funerals in my life. Highly recommended A+
Covell took wonderful care of my father when he passed, from start to finish. The people who came to collect him were very respectful, supportive and friendly. They did not rush the process. When we were ready the men placed my dad in a beautiful bag for transport I was not expecting anything so lovely! Upon meeting with Covell to discuss arrangements, our needs came first. We were given options but not pressured in any way whatsoever. The paperwork was easy as was the pick up of my father's ashes. And the best part of our entire experience: when my dad passed he did not look like himself and we were left with the image of the physical changes in his last hours. We opted for a viewing for one last goodbye before cremation. It was the best decision we could have made. He looked BEAUTIFUL, almost alive, like he was peacefully sleeping. My dad used to lay next to my mom with his hands crossed over his belly and joke that he was "practicing" and it made us smile to see him positioned the exact same way, appearing to nap like old times. I don't know who did that magic to him, but THANK YOU. Our last memories of being with my dad were made special by this amazing team!
We did not have a funeral home picked out . I read the reviews . I am happy to say everything went smooth. No issues at all. I knew what my mom was expecting for her funeral wishes , Karen helped our family very much . Receptionist was so pleasant and helpful as well . I am not from Traverse City so being from out of town making a choice like this is difficult and you really only have reviews to help with the decision. If you are in the same position I was you will be able to put your trust and have all the confidence you need to let them help you through this difficult time . My mom looked great for her next adventure. I miss her . Having the confidence knowing this is last gift of love is a blessing.
Our family has been using the services of Covell Funeral Home since 1978. Our most recent experience was December 2020. The tradition of Excellence continues. Karen Hypio was amazing as she guided our family through the process. Her compassion and understanding made a difficult situation easier to navigate.
The Director, John Kiblinger, was very helpful in assisting me with my mom's final arrangements. He put me right at ease because he is from the area and I also grew up here. John was not "pushy" in any way and I respected that a great deal since I am working within a rather small budget. He was respectful and courteous. I will definately use their services again.
Chris and his staff were stellar. We dropped off items and picture boards and they arranged every item perfectly. The small private funeral home was perfect for our memorial. Cozy and well arranged. Chris helped with every detail. I am so blessed to have chosen Covell Funeral Home.
we are very pleased with the services you have provided us and the way you took care of every need possible even over and above what we expected, the staff were very pleasant, thoughtful and left no question unanswered or anything undone. would tell any and all to use your services, not even a hint of anything you didn't do or left undone, Karen the manager bent over backwards to fulfill our wishes and more. we were not sure what needed to be done but Karen told us to relax they have it covered, and it was. Will use your services when needed again. we are sure Beverly's brother and her mother are both pleased to be together, after 69 years of being missing from the Korean War they are united again and we have closure to, thank you Covell and Staff.
The staff made us feel loved with compassion and great knowledge of what our mother wanted for services. We are forever grateful for the care and love you showed our mother. Thank you from our hearts!
Awesome women working here - made us out-of-towners feel so welcomed and they were so accommodating to our every need in our Funeral arrangements for our mother! Bravo!
