The only time dealing with my husband's cancer hits me is when we pull in the parkinglot where the arrow points to cancer patient parking. For some reason that hits me in the gut every time. Other than that, the Center has made every single step of this process wonderful.
I had radiation Cemo and they were so nice about everything. I lost my husband a couple weeks before I started so I was not doing well and they were so good about everything. Now I might be going through it again
I now get infusions for my MS here. Such a nice place. You get your own little cubicle, they wrap you in warm blankets if your cold, bring you light refreshments if you need them and always have a smile on their face. I told them I felt like I was at a spa I've never been to a spa but it's closest I've come to one Lol! And foremost they care about your well-being. Making sure you're having no reaction to the drug being administered.
My father can’t see, and he needs me to help him get around, but during the pandemic, when I tried to help him get inside, they got upset because they didn’t allow visitors, and the Lady behind the counter was extremely unkind. I was not visiting, I was helping my dad who can’t see.
The nursing staff is great but upon my arrival and when I checked out I am treated very rude and unprofessionally by the Infusion front desk receptionist. She is an older women who doesn’t know when to stop arguing nor keep her comments to her self when in fact she’s not a nurse and her job is to check me in and out. I won’t list her name or say what she said on here however I’ll be making a proper complaint when I’m here next for my appointment. I have to come here or the kalkaska center 2-3 times a week and if this is how I’m going to be treated I’ll be making arrangements elsewhere.
The doctor I had was rude and not compassionate at all. Poor bedside manner. The M.A. that took me back to my room insisted I hadn't had a biopsy yet even though I explained I had and was already dignosed with cancer. I called my referring physician when I walked out of the building and asked to be referred elsewhere. I will drive the extra 2 hours to get the care I deserve.
I worked for munson number of years ago on the oncology department. Upon arriving today I had called as my 85 year old mother has an order for blood work we were greeted at the information/ check in by probably one of the rudest ppl I've ever met she was arguing with my mom about which order in fact I called a few days prior and dealt with this lady same wanted to just argue. Today I got ahold of the doctor office that ordered the test and on accident left it on speaker phone so when dealing with this lady the charge nurse over heard how this lady was treating us. And spoke up as the orders were there but this lady here wouldn't be helpful in anyway. We are still waiting. As I sat with my mother an older gentleman came in and dealt with this same lady abd again overly rude to the point I apologized to this bob for her behavior... these people are sick and do I repeat do not deserved to be treated rudly and poorly. I am disgusted and feel very bad for anyone who has to deal with this lady and her name is Robin. I'm not stopping here formal complaint is being filed
The staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable while waiting & during my PET Scan. Much appreciated because this was my first experience with this procedure.
I took my Mom down for her first infusion for rheumatoid arthritis, and we were blessed to have Leah as our nurse. My Mom was extremely nervous, on the verge of opting out entirely before we even got there. Leah, with her calm, collected presence, was able to help my Mom down to a very relaxed state simply by taking with her. The rest of the staff seemed wonderful and attentive as well, and would check in on us frequently. I recall Janet? being incredibly attentive and helpful as well. Like I said, though, at some point or another, it seemed like almost every member of the staff supported us in some way. I couldn't recommend this center more.
I didn't know a flood of emotions would come over me with a panic attack, just at the check in desk. The receptionist, Debbie, talked in this calming voice and held my hand. She was able to validate what I was feeling was real and it is all overwhelming. She told me she would pray for me and she hugged me as I went back. Thank you for your kindness Debbie you are a treasured soul.
