Crater Lake National Park
"Crater Lake National Park protects the deepest lake in the United States 1,943 feet deep. The lake occupies a caldera formed 7,700 years ago when a volcanic peak collapsed after a major eruption. Fed only by rain and snow, the lake is exceptional for its clarity and intense blue color. A 33-mile road around the lake provides dramatic views. Popular activities include hiking, stargazing, and boat tours. The park is open year-round, but many roads, trails, and facilities are closed in the winter and spring due to deep snow."

Absolutely breathtaking! Completely worth the drive! My family and I almost didn't make the drive here and we are SO glad that we did. The water is so blue and calm. We made the drive around the entire lake and there were so many spots to pull off and enjoy the view.
a magnificent place, everything that I saw here is difficult to describe, you just have to see it for yourself. purpose of the day can be spent here. You can also go by bike or on foot. such beauty is very rare on earth and must be seen. every year I come to court for one day, I don’t get tired and I’m very pleased, despite the fact that I drive 450 mil per day. Be sure to go, you will be very pleased. only choose good weather, clear not overcast without fog.
Definitely breathtaking. I highly recommend adding this place to your bucket list. The drive was pretty long but worth it. We took hwy 62, which is the South entrance. Its 20 bucks per car to enter the park. We took our 2 small dogs and they loved the snow. I highly encourage snow boots because you will be sinking into it. There isn't much to do right now because of how much snow there is, but I still recommend going. They do have a gift shop that is open and offer some food and beverages. Crater lake is one of the most magnificent lakes I've ever been too.
Perfect trip. Being wildlife season, we were lucky to enjoy the national park without a smokey environment. The hike to the waterline is 2.2 miles one way down a steep winding trail. The cold 65 degrees was rewarding but hard to get adjusted at first.
Only the South Entrance is open during the winter. It’s a long road in so make sure to fill up with gas before you make your way to the park. Quite busy near the car park but if you venture left from the first viewpoint you’ll have the area to yourself and some incredible views too.
Well worth a visit. Mostly a driving tour park unless you plan to hike or camp. Stop at all the view points and learning locations. It's a really cool place to enjoy a day. The lodge looked to be going through some renovations and should be a cool place to stay when done. Open now though I believe.
I truly believe this is the most amazing place I've ever been to. Words can't describe how it feels seeing this lake in person. The scale is unimaginable, and the beauty of it all is absolutely stunning. You should definitely visit crater lake if you can, it will be something you'll remember for the rest of your life. There are some great trails around the ridge or the crater & some cute animals too.
The deepest lake in the United States and water is so clear that you can see the cliffs off the edge. It's a picturesque lake and needs to be seen to be believed. Yet, unlike other national parks, there is nothing much to do other than driving around and taking in the views. If you are lucky, they may have the water front open so you can go up to the lake, and dive in. Yes they do allow you to swim in the lake, but sometimes they are closed. You cannot bring your own boats or paddle boards.
What a gorgeous place. We’ve been to Crater Lake in the summer but costing it in winter is a whole new experience! Take xc skis and plan to spend at least 1.5 hours skiing along the side of the lake it’s a paved road which is closed to traffic and is covered with snow. The views are breathtaking and the experience is a lot of fun. It’s flat so pretty easy for all levels. The visitor center rents snowshoes too.
Really beautiful place. Go early if you want to really enjoy hiking the trails and then go into the water when the sun is high and hot. Has vault toilets at some points so plan your stops if you plan to drive around the lake. Had a great time.
