About

Stay with us, dine with us, and enjoy many recreational opportunities such as the # 1 Trail in the State of Kentucky, Eagle Falls, Trail #9!

Description

Known as the "Niagara of the South," the 125-foot wide curtain of water is dramatic day or night. But it's only at night during a full moon that you can see the moonbow, a phenomenon not found anywhere else in the Western Hemisphere.

Lodging:
The solid hemlock beams and knotty pine paneling complement the massive stone fireplaces in historic DuPont Lodge, one of the most beautiful state park lodges. Fifty-one rooms offer beautiful views and full amenities including interior corridors. All rooms totally renovated in 2006. Relax on the beautiful, large observation deck overlooking the Cumberland River winding through the hillside. DuPont Lodge provides a spectacular spot for a wedding.

Wonderful Lodge! The room was clean, and the furnishings were fine. Towels were soft and fluffy. The only issue was that the door stuck a bit when trying to get into the room. I love old buildings and a sticky door didn't put me off. The park was fabulous! Hiked over 10 miles the first day.Rooms: 4/5
Beautiful view from the top of the falls is an easy walk from the parking lot. Some stairs to get to the better viewing areas. Park is well-maintained. Clean bathrooms. Snacks and treats are available at a reasonable price. Great family destination. We did not stay on the grounds. Just drove through and hiked the falls for an hour or so.
This is our third time visiting the park. We drive up from Florida on our way to visit my son in Southern Indiana. I love this park . It's so laid back and has lots of activities. They have a lodge and cabins along with camping. We stayed in the cabins . The area is quiet and so relaxing. We like to hike so there is plenty of trails that offer beautiful scenery. I will definitely be back again .
Like always .loved it never realized why my dad always wanted to come down here. Once I got here I realized why .the beauty alone is breath taking just sitting by the falls or walking the trails. Your at one with nature not trying to sound corny. But yeah oneof the most beautiful places I've ever been in my 44yrs on earth. And the lords will I'll be heading back down often.
Beautiful scenery, with a gift shop and wheeled food cart. Also includes a dessert shop as well. Lots of trails, filled with wildlife. This is a great place to go for the adventurous types. Cell phone coverage not so good. Bring water and supplies if planning to walk/run trails. I highly recommend this place. Walkability: There are stairs with handrails near the park center, but once you get deep in the trails, not so much. Food & drinks: Cart shops, souvenir shops, and dessert shops.
I just visited the falls, so I can't really rate the rooms or the service. But the location itself was very clean and very well maintained. It hasn't really changed much from when I used to go there as a child. I would highly recommend visiting Cumberland Falls. This is a great day trip or weekend trip, very family-oriented.
Kentucky State Park at Cumberland Falls is breathtaking. So many views, so little time...and we were here for 3 days! The Parks staff are wonderful at explaining the details of this spectacular feet of nature. Come for a pause in your trip, an overnight or longer, but if you enjoy waterfalls ...come.Rooms: 4/5
Great experience. The falls, the hiking and the outdoor scenery were 10 out of 5 star rating. Very much worth coming for minimum 1 full day to hike the trails. Hotel and accommodations were OK. Rooms were dated but quite and slept good. Breakfast and meal times were I suppose as expected for being out in the middle of no where. Breakfast is basically a buffet with other options. We had lunch here and the burger and chicken sandwich were good. The atmosphere here is like a school lunchroom. This is all ok to us as expected in the middle of no where and more a camping scene. If food accommodations were slightly better I’d rate it 5 stars. Rooms: Dated Walkability: Some trails will be very difficult for anyone with restrictions or elderly.
We took a detour on our way to northern Kentucky to visit the Falls. It was a very we'll laid out place and there were plenty of places to stand and see the Falls. We parked right at the Falls and didn't have to hike any long trails to get to the Falls. We like to go to see waterfalls and this was one of the best ones that we have seen. It's definitely worth the time and effort to visit. Walkability: Easy to view the Falls from many different places. This place has paved walkways and rails for your safety.
The last time we visited Cumberland Falls Park was over 25 years ago. The park has really changed a lot since then. We were just wowed over by the beauty and convenience of it all. This park is a great place to spend the day with your special person and/or family!Location: 5/5
