Daly City station

Description

Daly City is a Bay Area Rapid Transit station located in extreme northern San Mateo County, California, in suburban Daly City, less than one block outside the San Francisco city and county limits. Interstate 280 and California Route 1 run along the immediate west side of the station. Before BART service was extended farther south to Colma in 1996 and Millbrae in 2003, Daly City Station was the only BART station in San Mateo County as opposed to mostly San Francisco, Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and served as the terminal station (now at Millbrae) on the San Francisco Peninsula for the BART system. The elevated station serves as a terminus for some BART lines. It consists of three main tracks with a shared island platform and one side platform. The side platform is used primarily by southbound trains continuing on to Colma and Millbrae. The island platform is used primarily by northbound trains coming from Colma or Milbrae, or southbound trains terminating at the station. Southbound trains terminating at Daly City reverse their direction to make the return trip to San Francisco and the East Bay, unless they are going out of service at the rail yard in Colma.

It works as a transportation system. Station workers seem to barely work at all. Bathrooms are generally unavailable, & very dirty when available. Gateworkers are usually absent, but generally will answer questions when present. Loud, boisterous & often threatening behavior from a small but significant portion of patrons. Totally inadequate & disinterested enforcement presence.
Very convenient station to get to San Francisco, if you live in south bay. Parking is free during weekend and also after 3PM on weekdays. Just be aware of your surroundings, specially at night, you may encounter drunk and very loud groups on BART.
Very good option to park your car and get into SF city. 4 different BART lines start/pass from here so convenient to get going. Ample parking free from Friday 3pm through the weekend!!!. Gets a bit shady in the night and always a den for at least 2-3 homeless fellas.
It's good for what it's for, it could be way better, lots of room for improvement. Like outlets for charging, in the station or inside the trains. The hours could be so much better if the train could stay open past 12am from sf to Daly city. But all in all is good. Beats traffic and overpaying for parking on sf.
I always park my car here in the weekends when I take the BART into San Francisco. This is a better place to park compared to Millbrae since on the weekends the number of trains to Millbrae are lesser than daly city. A lot of trains don't go past Daly City during the weekend. At night the parking lot gets a little lonely. It is well lit up though.
Hmmm.... I wish they would have outlets either on the trains or visibly located around the seating areas of the platforms. I do like that the little bart app popped up. Most of the time you can.t make out the gibberish that comes out of the speakers so it.s nice to have a direct and quick link to bart news.
Decent Bart Station to get on. Reliable transportation...
