Lovely Campground very family friendly and dog friendly. The restrooms were always kept clean. Bringing bikes or a scooter is a must at this Campground. It is pretty spread out, but even if you don't, the farthest we walked was 1 mile to the swimming hole. I loved this Campground. It is central to everything you want to explore or any stores/town you might need to pop into.
We enjoyed the campground, our site felt private and there were nice trails within the park. We missed having a playground and water at the site but it was pleasant anyways. The bathrooms however, left a lot to be desired. We had many people camping in our loop and there was one bathroom/shower. In the women's side, 2 toilets in stalls and one shower, the men's had only 1 toilet with a stall, one urinal and a shower. The shower had a push button and no temp control, and had unbelievable water pressure. So a lot of warm water came out in 36 second increments. Most of us took a cool shower at some point when the hot water ran out. As it turns out, when you are camping, nice bathroom facilities are appreciated by us all.
Great campsite near the river. The swimming hole is at a bend in the river with a natural beachfront type gradual entry for little ones and a little further out the water is 8+ ft deep with a platform for jumping. If you put in with a tube there, you can float al the way the the bridge at the entry of the campground nearly a mile downriver. Lots of hiking and fishing and biking opportunities in the area.
The site we stayed on-Sycamore 2 electric-was very close to the entrance which meant we heard all the coming and going of arriving and departing campers. Other sites were quiet and more secluded. Bathrooms were well maintained. Some sites were close to the river that ran through the campground. The staff were very friendly. We will return but choose a different site.
I’m apprehensive in sharing about this place. No better place to bring a family to camp in the summer. Camp spots are spread out, large, private, hiking and biking trails everywhere. Amazing river walk. Cool in the summer.Rooms: 5/5
A fantastic campground. I love there are showers. The Davidson River is right on the campground so the hiking is really accessible and easy. You can also fish. The road is easy to drive through and the gate is open. The wood was overpriced at $10 a bundle and it's cheaper at the gas station near the entrance of the park at $6 a bundle. When did wood get so expensive? The campground is definitely busy. It's a good mixture of RV and tent. Nearby activities: Lots of waterfalls and cute shopping in Brevard Walkability: Very. No strenuous trails to get to the campsite. Food & drinks: No food or drink onsite but Brevard has a ton of stuff within 15 minutes.
Mother's nature's is the best place to hang out and get away in your house for a bit, very nice cool weather temperature so far, while at home is 92°, here is 62° at night and mud 80s on day time.Service: 1/5
One of the best campgrounds around. Sites are spacious and well-spaced. Some have electric. Flush toilets and showers for everyone. Water conveniently located for all. Access to the river for swimming and fishing. Waterfalls and scenery of Pisgah NF nearby. No cell signal but you don’t have to go far.Rooms: 5/5
We loved this place. It was beautiful, quiet and a really close drive to trailheads in Pisgah. Yes there is no water connection at the site and we had no signal but the lack of signal made it even better because it was easier to focus on the beauty around you.
2 restful nights at this lovely campground was exactly what I needed. Rain for the first 12 hrs, a chilly night, then a bright and beautiful day to enjoy walking around the park and think about taking a trail offered to hike to waterfalls and natural beauty of the forest, save that for next visit. Nearby activities: I saw some happy fishermen, lots of bicycles and walking sticks, laughter, childs play giggles and shrieks, I pined for a kite. Walkability: Even my old bones walked on paved areas with ease, no guarantees once you step off manmade to Mother Nature, careful, she has an ironic humor! Keep shooting those videos! Noteworthy details: Those of the staff and volunteers I encountered were all friendly and helpful folks I would work with any day. Restrooms: Functionally clean and operational. Lots of folks using them in wet, muddy, and chilly conditions. Dog-friendliness: Plenty of happy dogs on walks chasing sticks. Picnic area: Each site was its own picnic area with sturdy tables, barrel grills and fire rings.
