Good music. The food was good but pricy. Basic carnival rides and games. Only place in town you can drink and walk around outside. Taekwondo demonstration was awesome. Vendors were friendly and they had a lot of nice stuff. Overall it was a very good time and my wife and I really enjoyed it.
Very nicely setup celebration in downtown Decatur.
Excellent Street Festival six stages lots to see and do.Plenty to eat and lots of shopping. Excellent committee thanks for having Allen's original Redwood log house
Although the celebration has been better in the past years, it's still neat to see it take place. Yes, the fence needs to go away and more food/street vendors need to be in the area during the weekend. I feel if you had more vendors this would allow for more things to be done, which could tame the crowds. If you don't have anything to do, the crowds can become a little overwhelming. Great acts the last few years but it would be neat to see more local bands. Maybe a battle of the bands on the Friday and Saturday with the final showdown on Sunday. Hope to see it stay for more years to come, but it's in major need of a facelift.
The Decatur celebration is terrific fun! They DO charge now to get in, a respectable amount though, nothing too high. Some of the vendors are not very pleasant. Overall a wonderful experience! It's a great place for a family to have fun & interact together!
Always an enjoyable time with Great Christian music!
Not many vendors. Sorry just not the same as in past Celebration's. I dont mind paying for bracelets but less vendors than when it was free to get in I was up there Saturday from 5-7 only one blues band playing before bands all day played.Weather was good little warm not extreme heat.
First time we was here, enjoyed it a lot Saturday, lots of crafts, even bought a Harley-Davidson concrete yard thingy....saw a hypnotist who was hilarious. lots of food choices BUT......why do I have to buy a wristband for $6 to be able to then pay for food from a vendor????? That has to be the stupidest way to make extra $$$......where does that wristband money go? Because I noticed not all food vendors required you to have a wristband.
I always love the Celebration event---music,crafts,food. I try to stay out of the line of fire---smoking drifts and it is not always easy because they do have that right....I am on 3 liters of O2 portable machine and in a wheelchair because I can no longer do the walking --- try to watch where I place myself but in smoke my lungs cease up quick.
Hadnt been in years do to the fact it was nothing but thugs fighting and acting like animals by the carnival and the remaining part of celebration being a meeting spot for the trashiest people of decatur intertwined with a small majority of decent human beings then they started charging. heard rumours that this put a end to what stopped me from going in the first place so we gave it a go and payed to walk around to few vendors and overpriced food so the next best thing they did was raise the price again. I let my 1year old go with her grandparents and the people at the gate refused to let them bring her sippy cup of juice in or the zip lock bag of snacks this is the ignorance this city has I'm sorry that a one year old isnt going to be drinking beer at the beer tent and I'm sure a 4dollar pop isn't appropriate for a 1year old and at her age chicken on a stick isn't a real go to snack so the great decatur trash bash will see no more money from any of my family and I definitely will not be involved or support any event the city of decatur has there crooked hands in.
