In and out in about 45 min. Half of that is backing up. Side with doors 40-50+ is tight as heck. Even day cabers have a hard time straight in up. Definitely not a place for beginners.
Truck entrance it's on 10th and Jefferson Corner. Tight place!!! you need to drop trailer so ppl can pass thru,. Make sure you got an appointment number. They wont start unloading till you get it.....
Had a hard time getting pictures for our 2 yr old for her passport. The team here was so helpful - they sang songs and got her warmed up! The process here was smooth and they were all friendly.
Worst customer service ever. The lady was super rude, didn’t make herself clear as what she wanted from me when I was depositing my package. She rolled her eyes at me when I asked her for clarification. The worst…USPS need to train their employees to be more approachable like UPS or FedEx!
September 17, 2022, my relative and I went to the acceptance facility at the main post office located on 1401 W. Fort Street for a passport. The picture was taken, the necessary information and documents were given, and the payments were made. I asked the woman who took the picture and processed the information, if two photos were printed out. Her response was that two photos were not printed out anymore. Inquiring from others, we were informed that two photos were printed, not just one. One photo goes with the passport application to the State Department and the 2nd exact photo same duplicate photo goes to the customer, whose picture was taken. After numerous calls and no response to the number provided for the facility, the 1800 275-USPS was called. The agents/representatives spoken to were knowledgeable, helpful and professional. Each case was opened with a number. We wanted the exact 2nd duplicate photo, that should have been received on September 17, 2022, and for the reason why it was not received. A supervisor from the facility was assigned to the case, and I believe she did her best. On September 27, 2022, the supervisor for the case informed me that the photo came out blurry and was disposed of. I hope this is true, that the exact duplicate photo was properly disposed. The very nature of the information and documents provided and collected are extremely important. In the wrong hands it would cause devasting effects that would be insurmountable, life altering and damaging to the person and loved ones. It would not have been hard for the woman who processed the information and printed the photos to have been honest and forthcoming. We would not have had a problem with that!
So the United States Post Office seems to get a bad rap on here, but I think it’s solid. Anyways, there’s free 30 minute parking outside of the building on 8th street and I’ve never had a problem finding a spot. Next up, I mostly use the automated kiosk in the lobby and it’s always worked well for me with no problems. The line for teller service can be long at times, but it is a Post Office, and the automated kiosk takes care of everything I need. Anyways, glad that this place exists!
They are always so nice at this location. This one is the best one in my area and the mail gets there faster if you drive it to this one as opposed to putting it in the Mailbox in the neighborhood.
Employees are nice ..there trucks goes in and out pretty fast ..but for outside carriers they are slow ..but keep moving trucks ..expect few hours ..and trucks enter from 10th ave and Jefferson road intersection..big orange door open automatically and exit orange door to 8th street ..park in street and check inside orange door..we are done in 4 hours ..little tight space for 53 footer inside basement docks ..but it’s not impossible ..employees are helpful ..restroom provided ..once you inside mostly done in 30 mins ..evening shift faster than morning
Best Post Office in the Metro Detroit Area! They are open later then most of the other post offices & the most helpful, kind staff I've ever encountered! Thank you to all the post office workers!
Been waiting all day for an overnight package. They did not ring door bell instead put paper in my box saying 1st attempt. This is the 1st time with a situation. What am I supposed to sit outside all day and wait? Ring the doorbell....
