A beautiful resort! This is a gorgeous lodge-like hotel that feels like you are in a West coast mountain town. The boat to the Magic Kingdom is very nice and a lovely ride. We did not eat at this location, but we plan to stay here again and check out the restaurants. Definitely coming back here.Rooms: 4/5
This was our first time at Fort Wilderness Lodge! We've stayed at dozens of other properties including Fort wildness campground & cabins prior but choose this resort for a quick 1 night stay before our kids go back to school. We booked here to intentionally hang out at the hotel and not the parks for this quick trip. We arrived early, around noon on our check in day so the kids could use the pool, if you stop at the desk they will give you a room key to access anything you may need access prior to the room being ready chk in is at 4. We changed in a restroom into our bathing suits and headed to the pool, there are 2 pools and a splash pad for kids under 48" but we mainly hung at the main pool that has a water slide, I took my teenager to the arcade which honestly was priced super fairly, we played a bunch of games and air hockey 4 times for $10. At 2:00 we got a message that our room was ready, which was great 2 hrs early. You can go directly to the room and use your phone to bypass the front desk. We ate at artist point character dining which is on-site and it was actually better then I anticipated, this restaurant in particular is very pricey though at $65 per person, there is another sit down option that's family style, a quick service, an outdoor bar/grill and take out service so there is options. You can see magic Kingdom fireworks from our room not all rooms which was great. The next morning we had breakfast at the quick service restaurant and it was good. Something to be aware of Is that the quick service is surprisingly tiny, like around 15 total indoor tables. So if I was staying at a hotel with the family all week I would probably prefer some place like art of animation that has a nice massive dining space if I was planning on regularly using it. We also utilized mobile order as to speed up the process. Kids did a scavenger hunt for hidden mickeys prior to 11am check out and overall it was a great time, the rooms were nice and the resort was beautiful. The kids liked it but it was not their favorite out of all the properties we have stayed at.
A great resort and a high price. Overall we were very pleased with our stay. Tons of things to do and very close to the parks. Our room view was great for a standard room and we were able to see Magic Kingdom fireworks each nightRooms: 4/5
No easy way to get to your room. Pools were too warm and bottom of the pool is very rough. Lobby is lovely, room was comfortable. Desk staff was AMAZING!!Rooms: 4/5
We visited for a dinner with characters. Snowwhite and 2 dwarfs, and the evil queen. No prince, nothing about the rest of the dwarfs. Kids were super entertained. Menu was pretty good. A huge amount of food for quite high price. The experience was great. I just wish the portions were not so oversized.Service: 5/5
My family and I enjoyed this hotel. It has a beautiful design to make you feel like you are at a national park lodge. The rooms were clean and comfortable...not huge but spacious enough for a family of 4 which included 2 teenagers. We had a standard room and we were able to see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The resort is close to Magic Kingdom, only a short boat or bus ride away.
We got a lucky and got a “decent” rate for the weekend. Always wanted to try this resort out. Neither of us were disappointed. Like how quiet is when you’re walking around away the resort. The pool and geyser restaurant can get a bit crowded, but other than that it felt nice and quaint. When we were waiting for the boat to head to Magic Kingdom, the sunset on Bay Lake was beautiful. Our only negative so far was when we came in the afternoon the male cast member working the security booth was really rude. Had another encounter with him, and he was just as rude. Other than that, the cast members were really wonderful. The girl in the lobby doing caricatures was sweet and did a wonderful job. They have a lot of delicious food options restaurants available and the pools weren’t too overcrowded. Wonder if our room just got a renovation, cause it was clean and looked really nice for just a standard room. Would definitely recommend and return.
We ate at the Whispering Canyon Cafe'. Olivia "Olive Oil" was our server. She was excellent. Very witty, and knew her menu. She made our meal fun. The NY Strip with whiskey butter was one of the best steaks I have eaten in my life. I used to work on Palm Beach Island in some of the finest restaurants, and the steak I had was just as good as anything Palm Beach has to offer. I would highly recommend eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe. It gets a little "rowdy" if someone needs Ketchup or there is a birthday, but it's a fun experience for any age.
I didn’t stay at the hotel itself but it is very beautiful in the lobby and a full wood and rustic feel to it… I did however go to the hotel to eat at whispering canyon cafe and the food was amazing and the servers were all over the top interactive which made the experience one of the best experiences I’ve ever had and I highly recommend anyone going to Disney to stop and eat here, I know I’ll sure be back… also they have another restaurant that has character dining of Snow White, and the seven dwarfs… they also have easy and convenient transportation to all the parks by bus and even by boat to magic kingdom.
Terrific resort. Loved the rooms. Beds were comfortable, rooms well appointed. Pools were nice, not the biggest or best at Disney, but still excellent. Shops were decent. Geyser Point bar and grill is excellent, can see Magic Kingdom fireworks from there. Staff was friendly. Everything closes by 11. Rooms: Our 1 bedroom was spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. Safety: Very safe resort Walkability: Easy to walk around the resort, can't walk elsewhere. Food & drinks: Excellent food and beverage options Geyser Point Bar and Grill is especially nice.
