Check in process was fast and simple. Rooms are spacious and good quality for the price. Worker strikes were known in advance but the best management could do was leave a sheet of paper to address the issue. Talked to the front desk for more towels and toiletries but never received anything The issues and service can be improved with better management. For now it is better to go somewhere where the workers and guests are treated better
The front desk staff was nice. And the valet staff were at times nice, but for the times that they weren’t. They were just clearly overworked and understaffed. I’m not surprised that we woke up to protests out front every morning that we were there. The room itself left much to be desired. It certainly didn’t look like a 4-star, what with the half functioning light switches, for example. Would I stay here again? Not for the price. I’d rather just go to a Marriott or one of their affiliate properties. Rooms: The looked like hell for what I was expecting.
I regretted staying here so bad. I paid so much to get horrible sleep. The couple nights I stayed here I woke up at 4am every morning to truck horns, sirens, people yelling on bullhorns, and several disturbing noises. It was the workers on strike, a literal nightmare. They were their ALL DAY making those noises, and mind you i’m on the 14TH FLOOR. I heard it so clearly that It felt like it was right in my ear. On top of the strikes their was maybe 1 working elevator at a time. their was always a 10min+ wait for the elevator. Not to mention the lines for everything was atrocious. I also was going down to the garage on the elevator when me and my girlfriend started excessively coughing and getting lightheaded. Once we stepped foot in the garage we saw everyone there coughing and close to passing out. EVEN THE VALET. They had pepper sprayed a homeless man and the whole garage had been engulfed in pepper spray. I should sue instead of writing a review. also before wrapping this review up I’d like to say that $50+ to park your car a night is disgusting. you really hate your guests that much? They want to squeeze every dollar out of you here. do not stay here for the love of god. Hilton, I know you can do better. Make this right to not only me but all the guests that stayed last week. If not I will be going further to make it right for myself. Noteworthy details: Don’t stay here if you enjoy sleep, quickly getting to your room, cheap parking, maintaining good health, or good service. They suck at all those things.
We were staying there as part of our train trip and we needed to store our luggage so we could sight see and the man who took care of it for us, I wish I could remember his name, told us there was a man who could take us around so we met him and he offered to guide us to wherever we wanted to go. He happened to be free that day. If you're ever going to stay there, ask about him, his name is Rafael Ayala. He charges by the hour and does an excellent job. We had so much fun! The hotel is nice and they have a nice bar as well. Would recommend. :
Very convenient location - < 15 minutes walking distance to little Tokyo where’s lots of nice sushi and sashimi available at reasonable price. Waking distance to Walt Disney Concert Hall and few other iconic buildings. 7-11 is just across the street , very convenient . Homeless are seen wondering around the area rather frequently. Fire engine , Police car siren and ambulance siren were heard almost every hour or two, even though staying at higher floor . Diamond members are given $18 credit per day in place of free breakfast. The credit can be used anytime of the day in the restaurants or retail shop of the hotel. The hotel provide daily housekeeping . Overall , the room is quite clean and comfortable to stay in .
Disappointed. We payed for the extended checkout time, but whatever ancient excuse for a computer they use didn't update - had to answer the door to security in a towel and now our room keys don't work. Fairly certain that this wasn't the room we saw online while booking. Service was... Decent. Elevators feel like coffins with either missing or damaged inspection plaques making them feel even more questionable. Breakfast provided little in the way of vegan options - though that's normal for hotels in general. Rooms: Might not get the room you expect. Noteworthy details: Don't bother paying for extended checkout unless you enjoy dealing with security attempting to kick you out.
For the price in LA this is an arguable great value stay. The staff is helpful, friendly & always available. I was never worried about something being stolen from my room here or having to push on an issue to have it resolved for me. I'm a big fan of the rooms here, they've got great use of space, rainfall showers, the beds are comfortable but you may want to bring your own pillows as they're a bit flat. Another thing to be wary of is parking, in this city it's always going to cost you to park this is no different at the hotel, it's 47 to park it yourself in their underground structure or 54 to have a valet take care of it and this is a per day rate not a one time fee. It's walking distance from little Tokyo but if you're a tourist always, always, always remember that there's an overwhelmingly high number of homeless people in LA exceptionally so in this area located right next door to Skid Row, infamously known for entire streets being unavailable due to tents & squatters so Uber to wherever you're going.
Room were clean and comfortable we had a good stay, but I payed for valet parking and when we checked out, they got our car for us and we had just got into our car when the valet driver angrily hit our car and was rushing us. He banged the passenger door signaling for us to leave already. We had less than 5 seconds in the car , and didn’t even have a chance to put our seatbelts on. I understand that they are busy and have to get cars for other people but hitting my car was uncalled for and not necessary and we will not be staying here again.
I dealt with a rude staff member when I checked in at the hotel on a Sunday night. She kep placing things on the counter such as my credit card and license after I had placed them in her hand and that felt rude to me. I asked her to not do that, and then when she handed my my room key, she did that again, which felt mean and purposeful. That's not good service. More, in my hotel room, the bathroom sink was cracked, the toilet was weirdly shaped and the paint on the ceiling was puckered, and the area around the vents had clearly not been cleaned in months. Rooms: The room I had was terrible as I have described in the above. The hotel is falling apart. Just don't stay here.
We checked in online with our digital key, and upon entering the room, immediately noticed a man already occupying the room. We ran downstairs — the front desk was very apologetic and we were treated to better accommodations. I am not sure how two people could have booked the same room — that feels like an incredibly not secure situation. That said, immediately the next day, my mother used her key to enter her assigned room and ALSO walked into an already occupied room. They were then issued an additional 3 rooms due to the dirty nature of the other rooms assigned to them. While the front desk handled our situations correctly, my major issue with this hotel is: HOW could more than 1 person have the SAME room booked? It is a HUGE security flaw. We were concerned the rest of our stay whether someone would come into our room because of the same issue. Such an unacceptable situation — double and triple check upon checking in that your room is YOURS. And even then, be aware that someone may barge in on your room as well.
