I took my dog here for them to check his ears because he kept itching them & something was wrong, they told me his ears were perfectly fine, gave me nothing to help his ears or nothing. This is now what his ears look like. I took him to a better vet in Teaneck & they told me he has had a bacterial infection for a while now. That she saw the infection right away & has no idea how they missed it. Do not recommend bringing your pet here.
We love Dumont Animal Hospital! We have been taking our dog here for a little over a year & Dr. Diggle is amazing. He takes the time to answer all our questions & I really don’t feel rushed while he’s speaking to me. Dr. Diggle is thorough & also understands that not everyone has the funds to spend thousands at the vet so he typically recommends doing X first & seeing the outcome vs. doing XYZ first. Our dog has also been seen by Dr. Catherine cannot recall her last name at the moment and she was good as well. Dumont Animal Hospital is also very good at fitting our dog on their calendar promptly when an injury occurs. To any poor review about DAH, please remember that these incredible vets care about the well being of your animals and they have a very difficult job. Their patients don’t speak, so please give some grace. Dr. Diggle really is such an incredible vet!
this vet care changed significant for the worse. not getting solutions. 2 office visits, $700 and 10 hrs of driving to go in Circles with dog respiratory issue. still have breathing issues after 4 months. 90% of the staff are high school or college students, low cost labor. dog is suffering for no reason. im frustrated as this review can show
***UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED*** I've been going to Dumont Animal Hospital for 8 years now. 1st bad experience was with one of the female dr's, who missed diagnosed my cat of 14 years. He of course did not make it due to the incompetence of this dr. I brought in my cat for a stomach issue about 3 years ago. $800 LATER still no diagnosis, she said he was fine. I brought him back to see a different dr in the same practice and she told me my cat had stomach cancer and would not survive the next few days. He died in their facility.. I continued to bring my pets there because I absolutely love Dr.Bortz. Last week I brought in my border collie, he was acting strange, lethargic and he had no balance. They girl who answered the phone was so rude she wouldnt even listen to me. When I went to the office with my dog and they saw him stumbling they still would not see him. They turned me away and said they had no emergency appointments.. I ended up taking my pup to Oradell ER and $200 later I was told he just needed to rest and was dehydrated.. The fact that I have spent so much $$ at Dumont Animal Hospital and was not able to see the dr was beyond upsetting. They really need to get staff members who have a heart and want to help our Furry family members... And not make it about $$$$$$$$... If you are going to choose this office for your family pet my suggestion is to only see Dr. Bortz as she is the only who has a head on her shoulders!!! Completely disappointed in the staff of this clinic... Hopefully it will get better...
Appointment at 2:30 pm, we have to wait more than one hour. It isn’t easy to calm our pet all this long. And let’s see how is the veterinarian? Good or bad? Look on my next review
I took my dog here once to get a full body checkup and requested that no vaccines were given to him. The doctor, who is also the owner of the practice gave my dog the 2 shots anyways and keeps billing me for it $36 after I've explained I won't be paying for something that I did not ask for, in fact made it very clear I did not want at all for multiple reasons.
Brought our 15 year old cat there since he was not doing well. Everyone was very sympathetic because we had to put him down. Highly recommend.
I wouldn’t trust my fur baby with anyone else. Dr. Bortz and the staff are amazing. Thank you for loving on and caring for our pets :
UPDATE: So the day came on 11/29/18 that my sweet boy Jack fell ill and he couldn't recover. On this morning we rushed him in and he was seen immediately by Dr Coughlin. She knew he was not doing well but she held out some hope and that was enough for me. We proceeded to do some examinations and she tried to ease my fears while at the same time being honest. Unfortunately, after 5 hours he did not improve in spite of her efforts and she gently told me it was best to put my 14 year old pup to sleep. As painful as that was to hear I appreciated that she tried her best and was very considerate of our financial situation as well. She waited patiently while my family and I arrived together to say goodbye to our Jack and gave her genuine condolences several times. She asked for the final arrangements and made sure those were carried out. I received my boy's remains in a lovely box urn a week later and then received a condolence card this week. I will never forget that the doctors at Dumont Animal Hospital have a real love for the pets they care for. And I will always remember that Dr Coughlin was especially kind to us during a most difficult time in our lives.
I have been going to Dr. Diggle for years; before he hired new vets into his practice. He is a fine Vet and very loving and caring with the animals. He explains everything and answers all of your questions. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. Dr. Bortz is wonderful and; one of the most loving, compassionate Vets I've ever known! All in all I would give them a 10 star rating if I could! Do try them; you won't regret it!!
