Welcome to Dunns River Lounge, an upscale Caribbean bar and full service restaurant located in Rockville Centre, Long Island. Named after a popular waterfall in Jamaica, this trendy Caribbean lounge promises more spirits than what’s bottled behind the bar!

So I have been here a few times. Once during a Sunday brunch with my bestie back in 2013 which was good. Then I decided to do the new year here one year food was good. Then I came twice during the pandemic and was disappointed due to a take out order being wrong and then a time my rice tasted burnt. I decided to come back and give it another try. The place is upgraded with different seating arrangements which is okay just kinda close to the next person dining . Also the new chairs are not that comfortable. Service was kinda slow but that's expected because I believe I only saw two girls and they had to make the drinks and wait on the tables. Food was great this time no complaints! Drinks were okay there was a guy who made amazing drinks but he wasn't there and that was a time ago. Overall I was satisfied with my meal and I'm glad they are still up and running after all these years.
Had another fantastic experience at Dunns River in Rvc. S/O to Shari for holding us down. She's super friendly, made sure we had everything we needed down to the sauces. Rum punch was delightful. The food is excellent hats off to the chef .Food: 5/5
Highly recommend! The flavor of the food was delicious. We ordered the jerk chicken lunch plate and the jerk salmon. I knew this restaurant was going to be good when the sweet plaintain were actually sweet! The rice and peas were really delicious too. Not only was the food good but make sure you get the Tropical Storm Margarita. That coconut flavor made the drink instantly one of my favorites. The watermelon margarita was refreshing too. I appreciate that they are not stingy with the drink size too! The host was really kind and offered recommendations based on the type of drink we wanted. Great service, great music, and great food and drinks! I will be back again for my birthday! Yes, I’ll drag my butt from Brooklyn out to Long Island for this. Next time I’m going for the curry chicken and the macaroni.
My Server was Calicia E. She was hands on, pleasant and kept making sure I was ok. I will definitely come back as the food and service was top notch.Food: 5/5

9-9-23 This was my first time patronizing this beautiful establishment. I reserved a table for 4, for 6pm, arrived 5 mins before 6pm with my family which included my 6 year old and 16 year old. The waitress automatically stated you reserved online and asked for my name and walked us to our table. The atmosphere is a professional one of a greatly mixed crowd. The service is phenomenal along with the food and drinks. Duuns river you have acquired a new family to your list. I am profoundly happy and satisfied with your service and food. Black love, support black owned business.
Delicious food, great music and even better service. Our server, Shari, was attentive and sweet and remembered my friend and I from a previous visit. Would highly recommend a dining experience here.
I love the vibe and attitude. I've spent many good times here in the past. On Wednesday August 10 there was no one to greet and seat us. We had a wonderful waitress C, but 1 waitress to serve 20 patrons is unacceptable. At the minimum there should be 2 wait staff. She was also making the drinks and answering the phone! There should be 1 or 2 bartenders and a couple of chefs. I think there was only 1. I waited an hour for my salad- and if it's listed as an entree salad, there should be more than 6 small cubes of tofu! And canned corn is unacceptable, bleck, gross! There's no sit down or take-out menus! That's laziness. Covid quaranteening is over. Not everyone wants to or can scan a menu. We don't make a special trip for this. If I want to look at their menu online, I'll stay at home! The curry isn't made to order either. The vegetable was tiny, beaten up pieces of potatoes. I don't like potatoes. I wanted extra sauce and have always been told that's impossible because it's pre-made with the vegetables already in it!! There was no broccoli and only a trace amount of sauce, obviously sitting there all day, or possibly 2 days or more dried out. I must have had 2 teaspoons of food! The tofu with brown sauce was good and the Pain Killer and Mojito were perfect. The eats are good but it should be made fresh and there should have been a staff of 10. 1 greeter and seater, 1 runner, 2 or 3 wait staff, 1 or 2 bartenders, 1 prep and 2 chefs, instead of a total of 3 staff! And it's 2023. Update the menu with a lot more yummy vegan meals. The lack of vegan choices vegan not honey and not vegetarian doesn't represent the Caribbean or local population. 2.75 stars
