It is time for an independent bookstore to come to the South Shore of Long Island, one that will have a dedicated event space for author events, workshops, story time, and community gatherings; a place where people will enjoy a glass of wine or beer, cup of coffee, soft drinks, and light refreshments while perusing the shelves of books or meeting their favorite author.
The good news is that my business partner, Peggy Zieran, and I, with 35 years of book and publishing experience between us, have done exhaustive research, studying the demographics, meeting with people in the know and became recent members of the American Booksellers Association and the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association. We believe now is a great time to bring this independent bookstore to Long Island. We have the experience, know-how, and ambition, but what we don’t have is the start up funds to make this happen. Therefore, we’ve been encouraged to do a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo and there will be more to come on that in just a bit. Please stay tuned...
