A good place to go see a moive and the pople are so nice and friendly to
This is an AMC Classic. Most AMC classics are in a depressed part of town, this was one of them. Don't get me wrong, I'm down with the times, a pot dispensary in the parking lot, but good heavens the whole strip mall is as depressed as Alton. The worker behind the counter clearly didn't want to be there, but she helped us pull up my tickets while she jammed out on her airpods. Later when I let her know the soda machine was out of sugar free sweetener, she didn't even look at me, as she acknowledged my issue and called maintenance. The theater room was nice, movie wasn't great, but the popcorn was warm and familiar, as was my date, as we celebrated our 20 year anniversary.
June 1st 2019 my first time going. This place has good reasonable ticket prices but seats was dirty wholes in the curtains i keep itching thru the entire movie MA, POPCORN WAS STALE but the movie was good tho
We gave this theater a chance tonight despite some of the negative reviews. The theater was clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We required a close captioning device and the employees were knowledgeable and helpful with preparing it. My only gripe would be the food prices. Sodas are in the $5-$6 range. So basically what I saved in ticket prices I spent on food. So, we spent $55 total $15 on tickets and almost $40 for 2 sodas, a tin of popcorn, and nacho chips w/ cheese. We will return, but we will definitely eat before we go and skip the high priced snacks.
I really like this theater! I know it's old and it's needs some love, however, the people working are always nice, the concessions always appears clean and kept up, and they always try and keep the Coke Freestyle area's clean. On a side note, this is a nice place to go and spend the evening with family and friends as it's very affordable!
Best prices around, I can take myself and my teenage boys here and not think twice... cheaper than a fishing trip or a day in st Louis... Good strong building on a stormy day
It is a good place to watch movies. The movie prices are lower than most movie theaters around the area. Although the concession stand prices are higher than some of the other theaters. If you want to sit in a recliner while you watch the movie, this is not the theater for you. I think the cushioned seats are still comfortable even if they are a little bit low to the ground. I like to sit down in front of the screen but, I am flexible on seating depending on who I go with to the movies.
It’s not that much cheaper to other movie theaters, so I don’t understand why everyone says that in their reviews. Theaters used to be very cool in the summer, but this place is muggy and hot so you sit there miserable in their uncomfortable dirty seats. Their concessions close early. I ACTUALLY wanted to spend 5 or 6 bucks for a soda and couldn’t. Their loss I guess. Going to the show used to be one of my favorite things to do, but this place has sucked the joy out of it.
I feel like I got bit by something during the movie... I got up left and went straight home to wash my clothes. I wasn't very impressed and won't go back because of that incident. Bed bugs in the theater seats maybe? It's a scary feeling. Although the prices are okay I wouldn't recommend this place if they have an infestation.
It's not a fancy theatre with bells and whistles but it serves it purpose to let me see a movie at a much reasonable price. I have heard comments about smells or uncleanliness but I have not experienced that as yet. There was a time when there was a little popcorn left in the aisle or floor but not so disgusting I couldn't bear it. Sometimes I don't want to drive 20 - 45 minutes and then pay nearly $30 for a couple of tickets. I simply want to see a movie on the big screen and this does the trick. That makes it okay in my book!
