This was a first for several of our kids ages 11-24 and they all had a great time and wished it had lasted longer! Our guide, Jackson, was a hoot. He made the trip so much fun, yet safe. We had so many in our group that we had to take two rafts and we argued whose guide was the best!!! Outstanding team!
We did the FULL day Bighorn Sheep Canyon with our family me, husband, 17yo son & 13yo daughter. First time for all of us - my best research/result was reading reviews and deciding to do the FULL day rafting trip. Because other reviews said they wished they did longer for more river time. From the time that we checked in and got the initial briefing I didn't get his name, but he was EXCELLENT & efficient, to the ladies at the water shoes counter they were friendly and fun, to our guide - COHEN. He was THE BEST. Not only did he know exactly what/where/how to prepare us, but he was friendly, easy to talk to and perfectly engaging. He talked just enough, he was respectful, he was funny and was well aware of everyone in our boats needs. His fellow guides from Echo Canyon AND even ones from other companies that we encountered at "put in," ALL said, "you have THE BEST guide!" We knew it and Cohen alone left us with a trip that we will never forget! We can't wait to go back next summer and will absolutely request a trip led with him again. The waters were perfect for our first time - there were enough spots to cruise and look around and enough rapids that made us feel like real adventurers. We will definitely be back, we will definitely recommend Echo Canyon, and specifically COHEN as their guide. THANK YOU!
WOW!!! Cohen was an amazing guide and as I understand, they’re ALL pretty awesome but we REALLY enjoyed Cohen from his fun stories in between rapids and amazing knowledge of the River and such. It was my 3rd rafting excursion in my life and I literally don’t remember my other guides but don’t think I’ll forget Cohen!! The river is beautiful, amazing scenery and rock formations, and we saw a bighorn sheep and some geese. Truly amazing! Just enough adrenaline to make it super fun but plenty of floating to observe the beautiful surroundings and again Cohen was great with humorous anecdotes, pointing out the rock formations and wildlife. After the tour, we visited the gift shop with done great souvenirs at reasonable prices and pictures and videos for your ‘forever’ files! Stephanie and Vi were extremely accommodating !!! Book with these guys and unfortunately o didn’t get the handsome bus drivers name but he was funny, ni e, and all about safety!!! Thank you for making our day so amazing. We had every age, shape, and athletic ability and everyone had a blast. Thank you again, to Cohen and the whole Echo Canyon River Expeditions company!!!
Echo Canyon River Expeditions is first class! They made our family rafting experience the highlight of our CO adventure. We did the Bighorn Canyon half day trip which was perfect. The gear provided was first rate and our guide Chris was professional and fun- he kept our raft in control at all times and made our trip down the Arkansas a blast! We had burgers and a beer afterward at their 8 Mile Grill and purchased some fun apparel in their shop. Don't book with any other outfitter! 5 star experience!
We took our company to Colorado for a week of team building and included a full day of white water rafting down the Gorge. This would be my second time on this portion of the Arkansas river and I knew it would be an adventure that everyone would never forget and it didn't fail. Beautiful thing is, they now provide their customers with wet suits, water shoes, and other gear that one might need--these folks are absolutely fantastic at what they do. Lets not forget the great lunch that was provided on the river--it was perfect. Echo Canyon River Expeditions is a top notch outfit. Tex, our guide, was equally top notch. He knew the river as well as the history that accompanied it, which made for an awesome experience. His patience with us we're not experts at white water rafting : as we maneuvered down the river really helped in making it a positive experience too. Tex loves white water rafting and this is why he is so good at it. At the end of our trip, Echo Canyon River Expeditions 8 Mile restaurant offered up some great food. Absolutely cannot wait to go back! Thanks ECRE for being apart of our team building experience and, thank you Tex for your professionalism and calm demeanor--you made it fun and exciting! We will be back.
Echo Canyon River Expeditions was a great experience from start to finish. We found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful. It was easy to see that the guides work very hard to make this fun adventure possible by preparing all of the equipment and gear. Thanks! Katie, our boat guide, was very capable and guided us through the river like a pro. Cohen was a fun and helpful group leader as well. He helped us to be prepared for our journey with a safety briefing. I also think it was great to go to the restaurant, 8 Mile, right after our trip. We were very hungry after all that paddling, and the food and service were good. Thank you for the fantastic experience. We look forward to visiting again.
The whole experience was wonderful from start to end. Our flight was canceled and they were able to move us to the next day. When we got there everyone was friendly and helpful. Especially Bo, he knew right off we would be riding with him and assured us it would be fine. He took the time to make sure we got what we needed and it fit properly. Bo also really knew the river and was very interactive the entire trip. Shout out to #GrandmaTt also.
Had a great trip with our guide David. It was a beautiful day. We experienced just the right amount of rapids and gentle river cruising to take in all of the scenery. I was allowed to pick some fresh mint growing by a natural spring which ended up in our evening cocktails!
Rafting with Echo Canyon was awesome!! I was so nervous about trying it but our guide Ben was amazing and we had such a great time! Paperwork and rentals were super easy to deal with and our whole experience there went very smoothly. Would definititely recommend and will be booking again next time we're in Cañon city!! Also the restaurant 8 Mile next door has amazing food so don't eat anywhere else before your trip!
Trip was amazing! Had Spencer as a guide, and he was awesome. He has been doing this River for a long time, and in addition to being a great guide, he knew a lot about the area and the history of the gorge / bridge / cañon city in general. He's full of stoke and runs the river in his free time. Type of dude that just happens to be getting paid for something he'd do for free anyway! I've done a few trips across Colorado, and this was BY far the best. Better than California trips I've done, better than Oregon. Perfect amount of adrenaline without feeling "too" dangerous and the scenery is unreal. What is hard to decipher when choosing your outfitter because no one tells you that I find important in addition to the River that I'd highlight about Echo: 1 great facilities / changing room / parking 2 all gear and wetsuits included in price no extras needed. Gear was nice and pretty new too 3 the bus ride to / from the river is only about 7 minutes. You spend your time on the River- safety tips are given on the commute there. I mention the above because of done other trips where you have a 30 minute orientation, a 45 minute bus ride etc. a 5 hour day for 90 minutes of River time. This trip is 95% on the water. It's great. Will def go back, and I'd just save yourself the hassle and book with these guys. Plus, awesome restaurant on site with a bar for when you are done with your trip.
