My husband booked our stay with Jay at the Economy Inn in Crockett, Texas on April 22nd & 23rd. He was nice and friendly and easily got us booked. We checked into room 106, though pretty run down and old, it seemed surface level clean clean. When we walked into the room it reeked of a chemical smell. Perhaps it was a pesticide. I left the door open for a while to air it out. We were traveling with our dog, and I brought her crate and pet bed, but she did roll around on the carpet a lot. A few days after our stay we noticed she was itching and scratching. A few days after that she had sores and pustules. It turns out that she contracted mange during our stay. It’s caused by an infestation of mites in her skin. She has never had this before, and we’re certain she got it from the motel room. My husband contacted the owner to alert him that they needed to use a different pesticide to clear up the mites in room 106. We were not expecting anything, but would have appreciated an apology or at the least their assurance they would attend to the issue. We got nothing. We will not be staying there again.
My husband was passing through and needed a place to stay. Got a room. Very very very disgusting. Mold and dead bugs everywhere. Dirty floors and dirty bath tub. He was there maybe 20 minutes a requested a refund which he was denied. This place is a scam and trash.
Room 106 in which we stayed in the latter part of April was superficially clean. It smelled strongly of insecticide though. Unfortunately the insecticide was insufficient to kill the mange mites that have now infested our dog. Before writing this review I phoned the inn to make them aware of the problem, not with any expectation of recompense but possibly an apology and a thank you for making them aware of the problem. From the response of the staff member I apparently could not effectively communicate the problem so it's unlikely that it will be resolved. Oddly, I was able to easily communicate with the staff on the occasions in which I made my reservation, checked in, and payed for my stay. Caveat emptor.
Friendly staff; clean room; clean fresh linen on beds; non-smoking room WAS actually a non-smoking room BIG PLUS; clean stocked restroom; air conditioning that worked great and door had a securing latch. Negative-very dated rooms could use renovation but again it was clean and smelled good. I’ll deal with older if clean like this stay.Rooms: 4/5
I don’t usually leave reviews, but I wanted to send a special thank you to the front desk staffs. They were so friendly and helpful. This place is so amazing and just absolutely beautiful. I would love to stay here again one day if ever given opportunity or chance to. Thanks a lot to the hotel.Rooms: 5/5
My family and I arrived after midnight and had a hard time finding a room for the Weekend. They provided the best check in-service and provided the best check-out service. Friendly staff. Covid safe. The beds were super comfortable and everything was pretty perfect. We will be back. Thanks guys.Rooms: 5/5
I read the reviews and I'm a picky one. We got there late, 1am. Check in was a breeze. Guy held the room for us without a deposit. Our room was clean. I have stayed in rooms that cost $130 that was not as clean as this room. Hotel was located just, like 2 blocks from town Square. I'll be returning!
Super friendly, under new owners, remodeled rooms. Very clean, inexpensive and quite. AC will freeze you out. Rooms have mini fridges, microwave and flat screen TVs. More like a mini suite that would cost you double the price anywhere else.Rooms: 5/5
Very nice and clean. We stay there every hunting season and this year they had major changes new renovated bathroom, new carpet, new bed comforter, over all very nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and low prices according to the room quality.Best price in town. Definitely recommend to friends and family.
All right room for the price. A lot better than Knights Inn. Updated bathroom. Nice room color. Wouldn't say it was all that clean. Better than the other motels and cheaper. Call ahead to tell them to turn on the AC because it will not be on so the room will be very hot in the summer time.
