This cafe is very interesting and represents the Poe theme very well. The food is plain but fresh and tasty. However, one of the waitstaff was extremely rude. She seemed angry that we asked questions about the menu an allergy and a dressing not listed, gave curt responses, and rolled her eyes at us as we ordered. Set a really bad tone. We also had a lengthy wait to receive our food and only a few tables were occupied. It is also worth noting that they upcharge if you pay by credit card.

As many other reviews have stated, it is such a shame that an otherwise great establishment is run by the most disrespectful man on the planet. I went in for lunch by myself and had to sit through half an hour of this man yelling at me for being on my cell phone. Just texting, not even talking on it which is still a normal thing to do. He yelled to the entire restaurant that he regretted opening today because it was “too hot to be on the phone”, whatever that means. I thought he was going to have a complete meltdown when I took out my work phone to read an email. “Two phones?! Two!” It was the most uncomfortable meal of my life.  Otherwise, the food is tasty, the waitstaff are all very attentive and the decor is quite charming. Unfortunately the owner is ALWAYS there and I’ve passed by on instances where he was berating some other poor customer. Absolutely will not return.

Fabulous Cafe which is named for Edgar Allan Poe. Lovely, friendly staff.  The interior is charming. The desserts are downright evil! . If you need a chocolate fix, look no further. They are dog friendly. They brought my dog a water bowl while I enjoyed my latte, which also looked like dessert...

AVOID AT ALL COST! •There is no No AC during summer, •Customers are not allowed to use  computers. •NO WIFI •Not allowed to sit while drinking coffee that you pay unless you order food. Inside is more hot than outside. It is unbearable to sit with the humidity and the heat. It is unreasonable from the management to have such expectations.

So cozy! The Edgar Allan Poe theme makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I really enjoyed breakfast here, a lot of delicious options, and the pastries are pretty good. Also the hot chocolate I really enjoyed!! Definitely worth a stop if you're looking for a quirky yet reliably delicious place for breakfast.

Cozy antique decor. Friendly service. Very good breakfast options. Highly recommend the avocado toast with poached egg. A tad pricey.

Very large cup of latte, and really smooth!  They should reevaluate their vision and mission, what customers mean to them, what's their goals of the cafe, and where they see themselves 2-5 years down the road. Maybe a SWOT analysis of themselves and who their target customers are.

I was strolling through the city with a friend & came across edgars and it was close by, We decided to go in! Love the vibe, super cute place. the blonde lady was super sweet and gave us the menus quickly and gave me time to decide on what I wanted, I ordered the carrot cake. it was literally amazing!! love this place, definitely wanna come again!!

Went there during summer and there is no A/C. It is way too hot to have a pleasant experience. Other reviews have mentioned how rude and unpleasant the owner of the place is, and I would not recommend going there. Staff was pretty nice though.Food: 3/5

It makes me sad to put a “bad review” on a business that has history to this city but I feel like it’s worth mentioning.  Most important: The owner is very rude. He is very rushed for customers to order. I was sitting with my friend and he started yelling at a customer for not ordering right away the customer kept repeating that he was waiting for someone the owner started speaking on the low disrespectfully. The person’s Friend walked in right after, very awkward. Owner did not apologize this made our experience very uncomfortable.  On the other hand: These place has great variety of desserts, their food menu also looks great. However, they do have very strict rules about each customer spending more than 5 dollars which I sort of understand, and there is barely anything worth less than 5 dollars anyway as well as a ***No Laptop or tablet devices allowed*** which is good to know before you go planning on getting work done.  The staff was kind, but the owner’s energy made me not want to come back here again.
