The Embassy of Luxembourg in Washington, D.C. is the diplomatic mission of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the United States. It is located in an ornate manor at 2200 Massachusetts Avenue, NW on Embassy Row.The embassy also serves as Luxembourg's mission to Canada and Mexico. The current ambassador is Sylvie Lucas.BuildingThe building was originally constructed for lumber baron and former Congressman Alexander Stewart in 1909. It was designed by Jules Henri de Sibour and built in the French style of Louis XIV. Stewart died in 1912 and his widow lived in the building until her death in 1931. In 1941, her daughter sold it to Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg who was then in exile due to the German occupation of her country in the Second World War. It was bought by the government of Luxembourg in 1962 and has been home to the embassy ever since. The building was refurbished and renovated in 2003.

The staff and interns were the most pleasant and knowledgeable people I have met in DC.  My son wanted to see the embassy and talk to people from Luxemburg and they made it happen. The gifts they gave were nice and thoughtful. The pin with the joining flags of the US and Lux is something he treasures; but the real gift was the time that was taken to answer his questions. The real gift to his parents was seeing him genuinely smile at the idea and fruition of the visit.  Thank you to both of the brilliant young ladies who helped us make this happen for him. You really have no idea how happy you made him.. and by extension - us.

I needed to renew my Luxembourg ID, and apply for a new passport. The staff was knowledgeable, accurate, efficient, and friendly. They patiently walked me through the entire process and saved me 50€ at the same time.

To the person I just spoke to. Very rude and not helpful at all.
