Staff is super friendly. Location is great and breakfast is fantastic too. A few points: hotel needs a refresh. Ceiling tiles in the pool need some work, our shower head was lose and needed to be handheld. Another disappointing issue was that the bar closed at 10 while there were plenty of patrons left. Some other people including myself showed up just after 10 and we're turned down. Overall a 4 because we paid with points. It would have been a 3 if I had to pay the $400 a night. There is apparently also a $25 voucher, but never heard a word about it from the staff.
My family made a last minute decision to go to DC and chose this hotel from the reviews and location. The staff was so friendly and helpful! The breakfast had a good selection. We didn't take advantage of the free reception but you get to use your $25 a night voucher on the grab and go or restaurant. But make sure you use one a day! We didn't but they were so nice and let us use the one we missed. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel was only a half mile from the train station or a mile from the Lincoln memorial. And a bonus is the rooms were soundproof! So nice in a hotel. You do have to pay for parking, but it's in a closed garage so that was nice. The hotel was also very pretty inside. I would highly recommend this hotel!
We had a great time at this hotel. The staff we incredibly friendly! The bellhop and the breakfast staff get an extra shout out for their amazing customer service! Also, the breakfast food and happy hour were wonderful! We will definitely come back here if we are in the area again.Rooms: 5/5
My stay with embassy was fantastic all around. I came into town for work, bringing with me a 17' long 8.5' tall enclosed trailer. I did not realize that there are no parking lots in DC so I panicked when I pulled up to the hotel with nowhere to place my truck and trailer. After searching for a lot, I finally called guest services and asked for help. Thankfully, nabil came to my rescue. He told me where to meet him down the street, where he found 2 different spots to place my truck and trailer. He even stopped traffic and helped me back in. My excellent service continued from there. The dinner/breakfast were some of the best I've had, the room was magnificent, and the faculty was gorgeous and immaculate. If you're lodging in DC - I can't recommend this place enough!
Opted for the large suite to house my family of 6 for a week long vacation. Brought along a twin air mattress for my adult son and was able to leave it up and the couch bed setup, with room to spare and move around. Staff was excellent. Room size was great. Rooms are just starting to show a bit of wear and tear, the only reason this hotel was not given 5 stars. Morning breakfast was a great time saver allowing us to fuel up and head out for a day of exploring.
The swimming pool by in front of lobby is not good idea. Would prefer if was on the second floor with fitness center. The gift shop was not open when I arrived at 3:25pm on Nov 4. But eventually the gift shop it became open to the guests. The gift shop was a nice touch to the hotel. The only problem was the gift shop clerk does not report to hotel and the front desk stated that the gift shop was contracted so they do not have responsibility for gift shop personnel? The morning breakfast was outstanding and my overall stay for 3 nights were great and I would come to this hotel again.
Great hotel. Worth 5 stars evaluation easily. Room was fantastic I put 4 stars and not 5 because I think the carpet needs a deep cleaning. The interior court is immense Rooms are surrounding it. Swimmimg pool was OK a bit small however and jacuzzi was out of service when we visited. Breakfat was amazing. We really liked it. Gym well equipped. The hotel gives you 25$ credit daily for snacks. Overall money for value was very good.
Good: Clean hotel, clean room, clean and comfortable bed. BAD: After you check in they tell you they're adding a $25 per day 'destination fee' - but also giving you a $25 per day restaurant voucher; The restaurant is open 4:30 - 10pm, mixed drinks are $15, and you could get better food at a fast food place. The complimentary breakfast was okay - but nothing so special - you can get your omelet your way....the hot tub was lukewarm, a warm bath would be better. The concierge was friendly but told me I should tell staff about about the service problems wouldn't that be her job?, the front desk had no map of the area, the concierge has limited hours, but the hotel across the street had a map at the front desk. I will consider all this when searching hotels next time, and will be sure to add the $25 into that....
Checking In was much longer than standard even though I was the first in line. I made my reservations over the phone asking about fees and taxes parking, etc. When I got there they charged me another $25 for a tax I’ve never heard of. They then said no worries “we replaced it with a $25 voucher to be used in the little market place next to the reception” desk. We came in for surgery for a couple of days and we’re about ready to use the voucher upon our departure. The front desk lady was rude and said it had expired. she would not honor it. We were there for two days, she said it had expired. Her conduct was rude and inhospitable. That’s the real complaints. I asked to speak to the manager. She said she was the manager. Clearly, that also was false. A.k.a. a lie. She may have been a front desk manager/day front desk manager at best. Her demeanor, attitude verbiage was unacceptable. She needs to be in a different industry, not a front person and a hospitality industry. She has offensive conduct. I was raised in five star hotels. That it wasn’t honored was petty, unprofessional, bizarre upsetting. I don’t need the $25. It was just a point that hotel nice gesture turned ugly by her.. I will escalate this issue to the GM.
