Very nice provincial park, good size beach for the kids, good boating waters, but be careful of the weeds, quite a few in areas. Nice for canoes and kayaks, place for kids to learn fishing. Sites are pretty big, but some will have careful placement of trailers. Some good trails for hiking or bike. Plus the Trans Canada Trail is nearby.
This is an amazing provincial park. The staff are by far the friendliest I've seen. They all seem to enjoy their jobs and are happy to be there. The park and facilities are spotless and all of the amenities are up to date and functioning perfectly. This will be a yearly visit for our family. Thanks for the great memories.
We had a fantastic weekend camping in Emily Provincial Park with my family and friends. The RV campsites were really nice, and we enjoyed our time there. The park staff were friendly. While the bathrooms were cleaned regularly, they weren't as great as the ones in Presqu'ile Provincial Park or Algonquin Provincial Park. One thing that stood out to us was how well-maintained the entire park was. The trails, although small, were well-maintained, and we had a pleasant time exploring them. The beach was also small but enjoyable. Another highlight was the park store, which had delicious ice cream. The location of the park was excellent, and we were pleased to find that there were stores nearby for any shopping needs. We didn't have to worry about running out of supplies or essentials during our stay. However, our only disappointment during our time at the park was that there was a power outage, resulting in the water supply being shut down. As a result, all the washrooms with running water were closed. Additionally, the dumping station was also closed, which was inconvenient for us as we had an RV. We had to drive to Darlington Park to dump our RV tanks, which was an unexpected inconvenience. Overall, despite the temporary challenges with the water supply and RV dumping, we had a great camping experience at Emily Provincial Park. It was a memorable weekend with our loved ones.
Wonderful park, sites are very big, nicely spaced and clean. Park has a nice community feel, unlike some other bigger parks. Staff were pleasant. Beach was clean and large. Comfort stations were very clean and easy to find. My 14 year old blind dog had a very nice time. Would come back again. Only thing keeping this from a 5 was the bathrooms in cedar, very stinky and gross, but I'm in the outdoors not everything can be a 5 star villa.
Beautiful place. My kids got to do a free lesson on fishing. Staff was kind and friendly, Beach wasn't crowded. Tenting lots were a great size and nicely laid out for privacy. Only removed one star because when the power went out the rangers locked all the washrooms and was too late and too dark to go find an outhouse
Had such an amazing time here, the park is quiet at night allowing you to fully enjoy the sounds of nature that is complemented by the beautiful night sky. During the day the park offers lots of amenities like trails to explore, water rentals and a shop with some camping needs and soveniers. Restrooms: There is comfort stations with a shower and washrooms Dog-friendliness: The campground is dog friendly but the park beaches are not
Very nice park to stay for a few days or just the day. Good fishing nice sandy beaches.
Emily Prov Park is quite a nice park. We had a good sized site for our 35' 5th wheel. Lots of the sites are a nice size with varying amounts of privacy. I should mention though that as we walked around, you can see many of the sites have side slope and front to back slope making it difficult for some people setting up trailers. Keep an eye on the site details when booking. The beach is very nice with a marked off swimming area. The sand beach was groomed and cleaned with equipment at least one morning when we were there. This beach and Campground is on the Pigeon River at the south tip of Pigeon Lake. It is quite wide though so looks like part of the lake. My wife was out on her paddle board. This location was great for this but the water is shallow with lots and lots of weeds. We like cycling and the Kawartha rail trail is a short distance away. But this county road is extremely busy and lots of gravel trucks so we trucked our bikes to the trail crossing. The overall appearance of the park was clean and well kept. We'll be back.
Park its self was very clean, we paid $15 fee to attend a Bday party with the intent of swimming. Site and Pking were off a bit from the beach. After some time we got to the beach to find out it was closed. Not one of the park staff informed us of this. We were there to SWIM! We wouldn't of pd the $15. And, oh yeah, the private beach200m away PACK'D! Strange.
I was there for a couple of days - hill campground. The beach for day use looks like a swamp and it was deemed unsafe to swim due to high levels of bacteria. The camper's beach was quite small, with a tiny sandy area and a bunch of weed-like vegetation in the water. It can be fun if you are into water related activities such as kayaking or canoeing but if you are just looking for spending some time at the beach, I wouldn't recommend it. The camp store have very limited items - no beverages to sell! The only thing I liked was the amount of signs to guide us on where to go.
