An awesome trek through some really rough terrain. Make sure to bring your hiking boots, head lamp/flashlight and your sure footing! To truly get the most out of the cave area. You will putting your upper and lower body strength to the test. There also some challenging trails, and a beach to cool off at after!
Warsaw Caves is a fantastic trip for your family and friends. Many locations within walking distance to hike, sit, relax and explore. The caves are something else! You can actually go down pretty far underground which is fascinating. So much so that you can see icicles hanging from the ceilings. However be aware that it's a tight fit. If you're claustrophobic then you might have some issues trying to get all the way down to the bottom. There is also a beach with a slow flowing river, the water is also very clean. A great place for a picnic! I would also suggest taking the main path to the main lookout because the view is absolutely gorgeous!
Reasonable fees and easy to get to. Would be great to see it during the fall. Spent a bit of time where the water turns into a stream. Nice view and water is warm as it is shallow. Wish that the markers/signs would be updated/replaced as they are faded/gone from exposure. Bit long if you have kids but definitely doable without.
Beautiful as always. Excellent hiking trails. The kettles are awesome. Caves are neat to explore. Such a unique environment to walk through.
Caves are super cool, especially the ice caves. Campground is a bit crowded but still a great spot to stay. Campground permits include park entrance fee, which gives you access to the beach, trails and caves.
Wonderful campsite with major geographical significance. The trails are great, be sure to put on bug spray. The lookout is nice. The kettles is quite interesting. Nice and impressive formations. The river does a disappearing act by going underground and emerging again somewhere near the falls. That is awesome. Nature never fails to amaze you.
hiking is good but the trails are very poorly marked, if at all. you must follow the foot imprints in the snow so going just after a fresh snowfall for the first or second time is not a good idea. or just stroll around the campground. early morning over the beach.
This is a fun place to hang out for some trekking and cave adventure. The weather was nice and cool hence weren't too tired but enjoyed the day.
This is a hidden gem and worth the drive. During the camping season, the caves are interesting. The camp sites are big and the park is not normally busy. All kinds of walking trails to check out or a kayak/canoe trip on the river. During the winter the trails are busy with cross country skiing
This conservation area is a great place for family gatherings. It has good restrooms, camping, trails, and some caves to explore. The Indian River even goes underground here, so you can walk to the spot where the river "appears" out of nowhere. The River at this point is a lovely place for a short hour and a half paddle down to the village of Warsaw and back. Great placecto visit.
