This review is not for this facility. I had a decent experience with the MRI I had done. Be aware of their billing department. They claimed I owed a $1,000 more than I did because they did not properly apply the payment from my insurance. They did not deduct the discount amount so I had my insurance resubmit the EOB to show that I only owed $200.00. After multiple calls explaining this to them, I was still sent to collections. When I realized and called Emory, the billing representative was able to tell me the discount amount from my insurance, meaning they had this information all along. So I was sent to collections for their negligence. Emory facilities are not worth their billing troubles.
Hassan Monfared makes you feel like you are wasting his time, but will have you come in for a procedure then wait 6 hours before telling you that they forgot to schedule you!How awesome right?Well that happened more than once. When we finally got the procedure done, holy cow did he not care about hurting me. I have gotten this procedure done by other doctors and it was a walk in the park. I don't know what he did, but it felt like he was stabbing right through me everytime. It was practically unbearable. Then once this is over, I ask him and Emory for Statements daily for two weeks. They keep telling me they will send it and never do, but I needed it for my insurance claim. They could care less and kept lying to me over and over again. I get mad and lost my temper on a Support agent which I shouldn't have done, but when you are spending thousands and everyone at the hospital has the IQ of a potato chip, it gets hard to remain calm. At least he sent me to collections immediately.
Had surgery 1mos ago. Staff and Dr. Jackson taken good care of me. Didn't feel no pain. Healing pretty well. Continue getting my strength back
Our experiences have been pretty good for when our son was in the ER numerous times and admitted on December 27 and again on January 16,2014. Only problem I have is with the finance department.they came into the ER area to get the payment while the tech was trying to get blood and ask questions.ONE person at a time to take care of business.Very rude of him to do that. Care on the third floor is the best especially from nurse Bill.
I've been to the ER at Emory-Adventist twice now. Both times I was treated with respect and for a hospital speed. The first time was for a 3" gash to my forehead and the second was a bout of pneumonia. Each time I was quickly admitted, seen by the PA and the administrator, and discharged with scripts and instructions. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. While it isn't a high volume trauma ER, it is efficient and clean and it has more than suited my needs twice.
I got in a minor car accident after work one day and was dreading the thought of spending hours in an ER to have my neck pain checked out. I tried out InQuickER and made an appointment for Emory-Adventist's ER. I ate dinner and relaxed until my appointment. When I got there I was checked in, examined, and discharged within 30 minutes. It was a very quick and easy experience. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone.
OK, first of all I'm still alive, so they get credit for that. Had a severe life threatening infection of the liver and was there for 8 days, including 1 night in ICU. The nursing care was sporatic at best, and often neglectful. The ICU nurses were very condescending, grudgingly giving basic care and questioning whether I was addicted to pain meds because I had taken a narcotic prescription for TWO days before admission. Had she checked my record first, or questioned me in a proper way first, she would not have needed to accuse me of such. I am a retired RN with hospital experience for 13 years, so I have some insight. I entered through the ER- which gave me decent treatment- never expecting to be an inpatient for so long I would have gone to Piedmont's ER if I'd known. On admission my BCBS insurance plan was approved with Emory Adventist as a contracted hospital. But they do not allow you to have your own doctor, and assigned me an MD that was NOT on my plan, not telling me or giving me an option. I now have a bill for almost $1000 from that Dr, this after the huge monthly premium I have to pay, and the deductible I've had to pay. They are not up front and I don't trust them. In addition, they required my husband to pay over $1000 on my admission and even though the insurance paid that later, they are delaying the refund. Go somewhere else if at all possible.
Worst hospital EVER. The nurse was demeaning and treating me like I was some kind of junkie looking to get high. This continued with the doctorsic, Dr. Rathur, who attended to me for a total of less than 15 minutes The hospital wasn't even very busy, go figure. Didn't even try to diagnose the problem or run tests. Yes, no X-ray, blood test, etc. Prescribed me some medication and gave me some educational material which I already found online, then told me to leave. They are dishonest about their pricing policy and don't tell you how much your visit costs. They charged me $150 up front, telling me it was a deposit and would lower my final bill WTF!. They didn't tell me what my final bill would cost and informed me it would come in the mail. How can you not know how much the visit cost? I am going to report them to the better business bureau if they charge me something ridiculous. Avoid at all cost!
Hospital staff is incompetent at best. My wife went into the ER with a severe anaphylactic reaction swollen face, lips, throat, etc. and was semi-conscious. It was explained to the nurses and doctor that she has experienced this sporadically many times in the past and it is due to an unknown source. Rather than treating an allergic reaction, they refused a refill prescription for an epi pen but wanted to send her away with narcotics to treat the stomach pain which was merely a side effect to her allergic reaction. I believe that the staff at this hospital may be racially prejudiced or racist as I am a black man and she is Ukrainian. She shared the room with an elderly white woman who was there with her daughter white as well and the older lady was experiencing symptoms of bronchitis my wife has worked in the healthcare field for many years. After the nurse and doctor left the room, my wife explained that she had reason to believe that she was battling a bout of bronchitis which should be remedied with respiratory therapy, and steroids they came back in the room confirming exactly that but only wanted to give this woman some steroids and send her about her way. Of course, the daughter after listening to my wife protested, asking for the proper routine therapy. This hospital does enough to send the patient home out of their way.
My intention is to give them a ZERO star. Before I got my x-rays, I asked the lady in front desk how much would be my out of pocket cost, I gave her my insurance card and my ID. After 15 min, she told me that it would not be more than $100. After 3 weeks, I got hit by a bill of $340. When I tried to reach them, no one calls me back. If the medicine in this country falls apart because of the Obama care, this hospitals and doctors truly deserve it.
