The Office of Multicultural Affairs identifies, develops and implements educationally purposeful extra-curricular programming and activities to enhance the academic and social success of all students while modeling and promoting the positive values of respect, caring, honesty and success.
The office provides opportunities where culturally diverse ethnicities and values are explored within a climate of affirmation with the specific intent to expand mutual understanding between students while on campus and, hopefully, throughout their lifetimes.
In addition to providing individual advisement, counseling and proper referrals for students regarding their social, emotional, and academic concerns, the office serves as a student advocate and coordinates opportunities for students to meet faculty, staff and student leaders with the goal of providing leadership modeling, training and promotion. Affirming all students regardless of ethnicity, gender, color, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status, the Office of Multicultural Affairs promotes an inclusive and non-discriminatory environment.
The Office of Multicultural Affairs provides opportunities for the development of educational, cultural, and social programs that enhance intercultural understanding while assisting the university community to help underrepresented students acquire knowledge, skills attitudes, and values necessary to live and work in a changing, diverse, and global community.
