Note from Eva:
Welcome to the world of Pilate's. Its fun, enlightening with a superior standard of physical fitness increasingly necessary to the maintenance of one’s life and liberty in this complex civilization!
As a former ballet dancer, I have traveled the world coaching and developing both in business and lifestyles and found a common pathology in the Pilates Fitness setting. Imagine if you will, escaping the everyday stress by paying attention to your body speaking to you—it may speak volumes of its condition. The most common of those, is muscle loss. The majority of muscle loss is due inactivity! The more inactive we become with age, the less lean muscle we have. The less lean muscle we have, the more inactive we become. Thus, over the years, the two feed on each other, and our metabolism plummets. With the Pilates technique, an innovation of a sickly child in Germany suffering from asthma, rickets and rheumatic fever, East and West met in Joseph Pilates' dimension that left a legacy of his namesake to more than 80 million people around the world. Joseph Pilates later moved to New York and became the inspiration to such legends as Martha Graham, George Balanchine, Alvin Ailey, Ted Shown, and Jerome Robbins. The day he was introduced to Romana Kryzanowska, a young dancer, who would become Pilates’ protégé and devotee until his death in 1967 has carried on the wisdom ahead of its time. Romana, her daughter Sari Mejia Santos, and her granddaughter Daria Pace, continue to keep the original method alive and completely intact. In the new millennium, the legend of Pilates continues to live through dancers, actors and actresses, and professional athletes including Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Anthony Hopkins, Jason Kidd and many others.
Pilates is more than a fitness craze; it’s an exercise philosophy and lifestyle dating back to the beginning of the 20th century that has only gained more audience than any other exercise in the world. Today, his mortal perfection empowers young and old in all walks of life with core strengthening techniques, improved lung capacity, flexibility, posture and coordination. Those practicing Pilates today are playing without exhaustion, walk and run and travel for long distances without undue body fatigue or mental strain—but this by no means is the end. When one heightens body awareness, one improves one’s performance in everyday life!
Pilates is the most intelligent exercise today. Not only has it improved yours truly vitality, but many doctors and hospitals recommend it as a rehabilitator--a preventer of many orthopedic and neurological disorders, such as arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, post-operative back and knee patients, non-surgical and surgical back conditions as well as knee and shoulder patients.
If you only do Pilates three to four times a week for just three months it will improve your mood, your body, your attitude, and you will regain an energy you never want to let go. Regardless of how old you are, the crucial part of strength training encompasses the whole body to make you feel so good, that you’ll keep it as a life-long practice. If you take my health bait: you’ll be in control of your body, not at its mercy!
This is a treasure trove I am offering you to reduce fat, strengthen core muscles, increase flexibility, agility, posture and balance, and burn the abdominal muscles to move the impossible!
Please feel free to ask me about Pilates to your heart's content. If you like what you read, we hope you take the next step and begin incorporating Pilates into your regular fitness regime for the rest of your life. It will change your life as it did mine!
