We had been watching over the last few years how our beloved Fantasy Island was falling into disrepair and actually closing. The new ownership is definitely doing something right! Sure, some rides are gone but many are still here and in good shape too. The Wild West shootouts are still great! The train and the silver comet still are a major part of the fun. The food we had at the Steak place was excellent. The crowds were light and that worked for us just fine. The saloon had ice cream, a decent beer selection and a stage show. Above all, the adult workers and the younger student age workers were Pleasent and showed a sincere desire to make this a special day for my 12,10,4 and 2 year old grandchildren. There are several rides coming back and new ones on the way. They are on the right track. A great day just before school starts up again!
I'm a teacher and my husband works nights, we got season passes this year and while he sleeps at home I have been bringing my nearly-six-year-old here several times a week for the day. The staff are incredible, the actors are hilarious, most of the lifeguards are extremely kind and helpful, and we have been having the time of our lives. There isn't a lot open, and if it weren't for the fact that we try to swim 20 laps in the lazy river at least three times a week we might get pretty bored, but if you are local this place is a true gem.
It was not crowded on the day I was there so that was a bonus. The lazy river is a great way to spend a few hours. Water was chilly but refreshing. And clean. You can see that the new owners need to do some repairs around the park and not all water slides or rides are open yet. But, hopefully improvements will be made in the off season. Only 1 side of the Double Dare slide was working.
We won free tickets and honestly I wouldn't bother buying them. This place has gone down hill. I understand they are renovating but it's so sad to see it so run down. The only rides for older kids are the slingshot pictured bumper cars, silver comet, flying machine. Some of the smaller rides were not running as well. No outside beverages or food is allowed inside. Most of the food places are closed or have nothing for picky kids. The water park was ok. The wave pool was not open.
Was a little sketched out coming in and seeing the disassembled roller coaster in the parking lot, but the staff is super friendly and seem enthusiastic about the park. They have a good selection of kids rides and the roller coaster is really wild. Hopefully they get the rest of it open soon.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedYes
Purchased tickets on Groupon thank goodness!. There were only a few rides available for a 10 year old to ride, about three. I asked a staff member about the availability of rides, they said most of the rides were closed. Could not direct us to another area beyond the “water park.” Everyone seemed to remain at the water area—it’s barely a park. There’s about three slides/activities. A kiddie slide and a pool like area. There was a violent western show with a gun fight. There’s no map, I guess it’s so small it isn’t needed. There were almost no wait for the kiddo to ride the three rides and slides.
A lot of rides and food stands closed. Food was adequate. Workers at the games are very friendly. Games were fun .won a few stuffed animals.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$21–30
I was filled with nostalgia as I stepped into the park, hoping to relive cherished memories from the past. However, my excitement quickly waned when I realized that most of the rides had been sold off or were in a state of disrepair. Although I understood that the new owners were making efforts to update the park and restore it to its former glory, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. One suggestion I have for the park is to prominently display a warning sign at the front gate, indicating that they are currently undergoing a transition phase. Such a sign would help manage visitors' expectations and inform them about the closure of certain attractions, such as the wave pool and several rides. This way, guests would be better prepared and not caught off guard by the limited availability of experiences. Despite the shortcomings of the park's current state, I must commend the staff for their exceptional friendliness and politeness. Their warm and welcoming demeanor added a positive touch to an otherwise underwhelming visit. Additionally, it was a pleasant surprise to find that the gun show remained unchanged. Its consistency provided a glimmer of the park's former charm. In conclusion, while my recent visit to the park left much to be desired, I am willing to give it another chance once it is fully operational. I hope that the new owners will continue their efforts to restore the park to its former glory, ensuring that visitors can once again enjoy a complete range of attractions and experiences.
If you want a water park it's okay. Many rides are just not up and running. It's not like the fantasy island used to be. I'm hopeful it will be some day.
We recently visited this past Thursday. Considering the park had been abandoned and vandalized for years before the new owners took over, we went in with realistic expectations. We all had a fantastic time. They don’t have a lot of rides, but because there was no wait, our kids were very happy to keep going on their same favourite rides over and over again. The roller coaster was better than expected. The waterpark was fantastic with a few large slides, some kiddie slides and the lazy River. We had no issue filling the entire day from open to close. The kids would have stayed longer if it wasn’t closing. Considering the circumstances I think the new owners have done a great job with what they’ve done with the park so far and I’m excited to see what they can do in the future if people keep supporting them. They’ve done a very good job hiring their staff. We found everyone very helpful and friendly. Special recognition to the employee at the Kiddie Cafe. He was very friendly and put up with with a smile all our special food requests for the people with dietary restrictions. Also special recognition to the employee at the top of the black and white water slide. When my son started to get too nervous to go down the slide, thankfully there was nobody behind us, and the employee sat with him, chatted with him to make him more comfortable and gave him the courage to go down. We encountered so many genuinely nice and friendly staff members. If we lived closer we’d definitely buy seasons passes and spend the summer there!
