Super fun end of summer bash with foam blower, water spraying stations and blankets, towels, Kona cones and t-shirts. We were blown away with all the things we were given!
Extended daily hours, even for being closed on Sunday right now. Book holds, interlibrary loans, and numerous activities throughout the month; by far one of the better libraries!
Surprisingly, some of the staff here can't read. Even easy, short blurbs of text such as "SERVICE DOG" and "I AM WORKING" seem to be challenging for some staff members. Prepare to get hassled if this is an accommodation you require.
Great space, helpful & friendly staff. I didn’t get to spend long but I’m particularly impressed by the online offerings…I’ll be listening to CE materials using Libby by Overdrive.
I love finding manga and thrillers at this library, and i love the teenage zone even more. it can get loud due to small children, but thats only sometimes. most of the time, its quiet and easy to enjoy a short book before leaving.
You need your ID/Driver's License to get a pass to get on their wifi or computer unless you have a library card. First time that's happen to a state I'm visiting. Over all clean restrooms and building. Photo added is taken from the bus stop Red Route.
For starters, it's a nice library for a rather beat up town. Unfortunately, they do not have public wifi, you must have a library card. This is a cold shoulder to people such as myself who are traveling and do not have a local address to sign up for a library card. Their stipulations state that: "No registration or sign up is required, but a library card and PIN# must be used to access the wireless network." I'm not sure what planet they're on where this does not actually encompass a registration and sign up in and of itself. Also as others have said, they do stare you down a bit when you walk in so it's not an initially welcoming environment.
I just moved here. I was surprised at how nice it was. The only thing nicer were the people .
Overall it's a nice, brand new building. Only problems with these public spaces as usual are the Security that take their jobs way too seriously. Why would anyone want to steal books, destroyed cd's or magazines....??? I'm not sure about everyone else, but I always feel uneasy when I come here. I'm a law-abiding citizen who pays taxes to live here everybody else. Like somebody else said, you got to have a library card to use the wifi, which doesn't make sense. Just need to use the wifi for a few mins. Anyway, brave new world, eh mates?
Love the Farmington Public Library! The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is clean and quiet. Kids have a nice selection of books and programming available to them. In our two recent trips this week, they gave away seed bags and craft friendship bracelets. Also, on May 1st, the library will be having an outside 80's dance. Very clean restrooms too! Due to Covid, they are only allowing one person to use the public tables for 30 mins. Also, only two people are allowed to reserve a study room for 1 hour, even if you are within same family parent and siblings.
